In an interview today after a news conference in London on Allianz Global’s financial

Allianz Global reported overall assets under management increased 10% to €725 billion

while equity strategies saw a net outflow of €200 million. Assets under management
included a €52 billion increase because of market returns.

ExecuNet Exclusive: Economy Tempers Recruiters' Confidence, Hiring

Continuing uncertainty about the overall health of the U.S. economy has tempered executive
recruiters' confidence that the six-figure talent market will continue to expand during the first half of
2008. ExecuNet's Recruiter Confidence Index, a leading indicator for the executive employment
market, revealed that 47 percent of the 238 executive recruiters who participated in the January
survey were "confident" or "very confident" the executive employment market would improve during
the first half of the year. That was down from 59 percent in December. Further, 43% of responding
search firms reported they plan to hire additional staff in the next three months, a decline of nearly 15
percentage points from the previous month.

JMC Job Search Tips (Simple Things pt 72…)

Have You Seen Yourself Lately?
None of us would ever dream about going into an interview or a networking meeting without checking
out our appearance in a mirror right up until the time of the appointment. However, when was the
last time you checked your “presentation”? One of the easiest things to take for granted is how much
we “let ourselves go” once we’ve been in a particular work environment for a period of years.
Remember how much attention we used to afford our behaviors when we were trying to make a good
first impression? Well, it’s not so much that we’ve forgotten how to do it; it’s just that after being in an
environment in which we’ve become comfortable, it’s easy to develop habits that may have been
endearing in our previous place of business but might seem off-putting when confronting a new
opportunity. The list of these behaviors is way too numerous to place here but let’s just suffice to say
that it’s always a good idea to ask for behavioral feedback from those who opinions we value and
trust in such matters. Such input, while not necessarily the easiest thing to swallow is much better
addressed during your preparation than trying to readdress it when hearing about it after the fact…

Useful Web Sites
Here are a few free online locations that could prove helpful (if you know of other new or
unique sites forward them to me at rod.williams@lhh.com)
***There are a number of new business networking sites popping up as alternatives and
competition for LinkedIn. A couple of the new entries are:

Naymz http://www.naymz.com/ Maximize your professional opportunities by promoting your good

name in our Reputation Community.

Plaxo Pulse http://www.plaxo.com/ The easiest way to stay connected is now also the easiest way
to share just about anything. Pulse now brings you "people feeds" from all over the web:
