The SOLOvision Hand-held is a state of the art thermal imaging camera with Virtual Reality Viewing Optics. The lightweight and unique ergonomic design enables both hands free or traditional hand-held operation.

Once turned on underneath, the viewing optics will NOT illuminate without pressure being placed against the rubber viewing area. This means that the camera will not emit any unwanted light. Every time the user pushes on to the rubber viewing area (activating the LCD back lights) their face will prevent escape of any light in to the surroundings. HELMET

The totally unique SOLOtic helmet combines full head and face protection with respiratory protection, hands free communications and hands free vision.
You can identify objects through even the densest smoke by means of a fully integrated thermal imaging camera, which displays the image inside the face mask by augmented reality viewing optics. The ergonomic design gives clean lines to the outside of the helmet leaving nothing protruding which could catch on hanging debris in a re situation. SOLOtic is approved and in use in various applications worldwide. Padded ear protectors provide additional insulation to enhance radio communication and absorb side impacts. Images are picked up through the centrally mounted camera. Thermal images are displayed to the wearer through the augmented viewing lenses. Glass bre/kevlar shell bonded with Class 1 re retardant resin and Class 1 Gelcoat, will withstand a ashover of over 1000OC for 10 seconds. Suitable for use with all known breathing apparatus.

Thermal Image System

The SOLOtic is tted with a centrally mounted thermal camera specically manufactured for GB SOLO Ltd. The image from the camera is displayed inside the face mask by augmented reality viewing optics. When no smoke is present the re ghter looks through the optics and in smoke he sees the image in the optics. There is no need to change the eye line in any conditions. A battery indicator is displayed in the augmented reality viewing optics. The battery is mounted inside the helmet with an operating ON/OFF switch mounted on the side of the helmet. These parameters have been optimised to provide enhanced image performance with longer battery life. Video output is provided by a miniature BNC socket on the battery housing.

The Shell The one piece shell is hand moulded from tough re resistant resin with glass cloth and Kevlar bre, coated in a Class 1 re resistant Gelcoat. Impact resistance is provided by a Plastazote foam lining. The shell incorporates a fully adjustable skull cap type head harness with neck strap, which affords the wearer good comfort even in long periods of wearing. A full Nomex neck skirt slides into a rail on the lower edge of the shell and rests on the re ghters shoulders. The Face Mask The face seal is hand formed neoprene bonded onto a G.R.P . former, designed to t all face sizes with comfort and act as a suspension point to prevent side impacts breaking the face seal. A full, wide vision Lexan Polycarbonate visor is provided which is twice the thickness, 4mm, of a standard breathing apparatus face mask, giving the wearer increased protection against facial impacts. A front port unit demand valve adapter, which can be tted with a range of different connectors, takes the supplied air through two inhale ports, in the lower section of the face seal, up the inside of the visor to ensure no misting, then through inhale valves in the inner mask for the wearer to breathe. The exhaled air is then expelled via an exhale valve, mounted under

the wearers chin. Having the exhale valve under the helmet also helps to prevent misting when the re ghter is wearing a gas tight chemical suit. A passive speech transmitter is tted to the front of the visor to enhance normal voice communications between members of the re team. The SOLOtic is CE Approved. Certicate Number 1719. Communications Package It is essential in re ghting situations that the re ghter and his control can communicate clearly. The package comprises twin speakers mounted in ear pads, a microphone assembly mounted inside the inner mask and a helmet mounted with optional waist belt press-to-talk transmit switch. A lead and radio connect facility plug complete the package. We can supply facility plugs for most makes of radio. Technical Specications Intelligent Battery: Nickel metal hydride battery with integrated electronics which allows the battery to self-protect via thermistors and self-resetable current overload fuse. Sensor: Centrally Mounted Micro Bolometer Sensor. Viewing Optics: Augmented Reality Viewing optics mounted inside the camera shell. Twin LCDs (180,000 pixels) and prismatic optics giving an indirect virtual image approaching innity obviating need for sight correction aids. Field of Vision: Diagonally 50 degrees.

The unique SOLOunit integrated re helmet combines full head, face and respiratory protection with hands free communications. The SOLOunit is easily donned and can be adapted for most makes of breathing apparatus and radio systems. THE ULTIMATE LIFE SUPPORT SYSTEM

The Ultimate Life Support System - combining helmet, umbilical cable, communications console, command console and a 10 minute escape set.
SOLOsentry4 Life Support system is the ONLY such system certied as CE PPE Category III approved, making it the system of choice for catalyst handling companies worldwide, and frequently making it the only Life Support system permitted by the end-user client for inert atmosphere entry. Each technician wears a locking, two-piece clam-shell helmet with adjustable head harness and neck strap, integrated face seal with wide visor, incorporating an inner mask and two independently operating demand valves. A positive pressure exhalation valve is mounted underneath to keep the mask free from dust, debris and misting. The helmet also contains an intrinsically safe communications headset with twin speakers, microphone assembly and plug for connection to the communications line within the umbilical.

Communications Command Console The Communications Command Console provides full duplex intrinsically safe communication with independent volume control for up to 8 operators. Pneumatic Control Console The Pneumatic Control Console provides a common air supply line for all operators.
