Plot:
The film starts with Farhan Qureshi ( Madhavan) and Raju Rastogis ( sharman Joshi) quest to find their long lost friend Rancchordas Shyamaldas Chanchard also known as Rancho (Amir Khan) with the help of a college nerd Chatur Ramalingam ( Omi Vaidya). While on the way to find Rancho, the film takes us to their life in college where Rancho was an extremely talented student filled with out of the mill philosophies. This made the college principal Viru Sahastrabudhhes (Boman Irani) ire. The film portrays that Rancho has the capability to do the impossible possible. He convinced his roommate and best friend Farhan to convince his father to take wildlife photography as well as nursing his suicide attempted friend Raju. He even befriends their principals daughter Pia (Kareena Kapoor) and helps her to realize that the guy whom she plans to marry is an absolute jerk. With plots and subplots it was proved that Rancho can outsmart any student and won their principals affection. However after changing everyones life after graduation Rancho vanishes. Farhan and Rajus quest begins here. As told earlier most of the film is done in flashback but the present situations also bring a comic relief. Anyways, after spoiling Pias marriage and tolerating Chaturs narcissist comments. The two friends finally met Rancho who is a famous scientist Phunsuk Wangru.

Personal Impact:
3 idiots had a strong effect to me in the sense that this movie taught me to have a more positive perspective in life. Phunsukh Wangdu (Rancho) keeps on telling his friends that all is well. The movie had also given a motivation to students like me to always bring out the best in us all the time, for education is never about being the first or being the last; its about learning new things and gaining knowledge as we go along our long journey.

Comments:
Overall, the movie 3 idiots is a wonderful mixture of human emotions, love, success, failure, ambition and struggle. I liked how the movie flows for the viewers interest and excitement is maintained all throughout the movie. I wanted to commend the director, for he did a wonderful job in bringing up sensitive issues in such a skillful manner; the actors and actresses, for proving that they worth the role and giving the finest in them, and of course the whole team who made this movie. I also liked the song used it was nice and lively. I wouldnt get tired watching it over and over again.

Critiquing the Movie:

The movie was well made. Every detail is perfectly done. Only that it was shown in such a way that the students blamed their teachers and parents for their problems. Students never paid respect to the teachers as well, like when they peed on the door of the principal, fooling a teacher and insulting a studious person but still, they have the audience sympathy and they look so blameless despite of all the mischief and naughtiness they were doing.

Lesson:
These are the lessons I learned from the movie 3 idiots

For every student:

One should focus on learning and get rid of the cram. The movie taught not to be contented with rote learning but to educate ourselves in any way that we can. Yes, grades do matter, but it really is the knowledge gained that matters most. Getting a degree without learning anything is of no worth and memorizing the words without getting the concept of it is of no use at all.

For every teacher:

Do not put too much pressure on your students. For all we know, we have individual differences, some may be brainy, and some may be not. But its the art of teaching that makes the students learn and grow. Moreover, teachers must not humiliate any student who consistently gets the lowest scores in exams, instead, they have to teach them more and make them understand everything that a student thinks is vague.

For every parent:

Every parent wishes their children to be successful in any aspect of their lives, but this should not push them to control or to run the lives of their children. Every person has their dreams that they want to pursue, and they should be given much space and time for growing up and making it come true. Parents and society as well might dictate that one has to be an engineer, but this is impossible for someone who never loves machines in the first place. On the contrary, parents should help and support their children on whatever profession they want.

For every individual:

Run for your life. Accept suggestion from others, but do not let them manipulate you by doing all the things they were saying. Do everything that makes you happy and live your life how you want it to be. Make your passion your profession. Never get engage with something you never had a passion with. Make up your mind; know what you really love and what will make you happy, and then let your heart decide. Never be scared of the future. Focus on what you are doing today and make the best out of it, for with such fear of tomorrow, no one can live his present with ease. Follow excellence, and success will chase you. Do not search for success, let success find you. Being superb and outstanding in your craft will not just bring you success and triumph, but will bring you a complete happiness, serenity and satisfaction.
