Bonnet Assemblies

Actuator bonnet assemblies on Cameron FL, FLS and M gate valves provide the interface between the gate valve and actuator. They are compatible with Cameron Willis hydraulic and pneumatic actuators. They can also be used on other manufacturers direct-acting and reverse-acting gate valves. The bonnet assembly isolates all of the well bore fluids in the valve body from the actuator. Field-proven performance, combined with innovative technology, allows Cameron Willis actuator bonnets to match specific gate valves metallurgical and elastomeric requirements to extend wear life. Additional features include: Accepts pneumatic or hydraulic actuators, while unique single or dual-spring arrangement promotes versatility by allowing mixing and matching of Cameron actuators. Single body penetration, primarily used when backseating the valve and injecting lubrication, promotes system integrity by preventing any well bore fluids in the valve body from entering the actuator assembly.

Wide array of stem packing and seals, and standard stainless steel stems available for maximum performance under harsh operating conditions. Trouble-free design with minimum number of components, bluntstarted bonnet threads, and stub acme allow for ease of installation and maintenance and a reduction in downtime. Simple external, factory-made drift adjustment eliminates the need for set screws and repeated adjustments in the field, promoting constant drift. Packing retainer has coarse knurling for easy gripping and MolyGard wear bearings for maximum stem support and alignment.

MH70 Series Hydraulic Saf-T-Gard Actuators When your application calls for hydraulic pressure, the Cameron MH70 Series of hydraulic, single piston actuators offer an intrinsically safe actuator product line that can be used in hazardous areas. All Cameron hydraulic actuators are interchangeable with standard bonnet adapters and can be used with all manufacturers gate valves in nominal sizes of 2 to 6. MH actuators are lightweight and combines an innovative, feature-rich design that offers all the power needed to operate safely and reliably. Additional features include: Special actuator head with single piston design includes a top-loaded seal which can be replaced very easily by rotating the quick break, stub acme threads on the actuator head. This design also reduces the swept volume requirements which minimizes closing time because of smaller fluid displacement. All pressure-containing components are housed in the actuator head, providing added safety to platform workers. Two visual position indicator windows 180 apart on the housing wall allow viewing of full gate travel. Recessed windows will not interfere with normal handling and maintenance. Rising stem visual position indicators are available. Manufactured to NACE MR-01-75 for effective operation under harsh conditions; non-stainless components are coated with special corrosive-resistant coatings for longer wear life. Actuator is mounted by rotating it onto the bonnet and locking in place with set screws, significantly reducing downtime for changeovers and maintenance. Stainless steel spacers during initial installation provide fixed drift adjustment. Subsequent removal and replacement does not affect actuator drift setting.

Saf-T-Gard Hydraulic and Pneumatic Wireline Cutting Actuators

MSVW Series Hydraulic Saf-T-Gard Actuators Cameron Hydraulic and Pneumatic Wireline Cutting actuators include a range of hydraulic actuators which are used in the master run of a Christmas tree on a reverse-acting gate valve when wireline cutting capabilities are required. During wireline operations, additional well shut-in protection may be provided. When wireline complications occur and the well shut-in procedure is recommended, this hydraulic wireline cutting actuator provides enough force to shear the .108 wireline, 7/32 braided line or coiled tubing, safely shutting in the well. Like all Cameron hydraulic actuators, the MSVW Series is manufactured to NACE-01-75. Additional features include: Interchangeable wireline cutting and standard spring modules allow easy, low cost conversion from non-wirecutting to wirecutting applications. Powerful dual spring produces an 8000 pound closing force to cut the wireline with 0 psi in the valve body. Spring modules are safety sealed for trouble-free replacement without the need for special compression tools. Small swept volume in large coil spring plus spring pak ensures quick closure even under the most adverse conditions. Short, compact unit is generally smaller than conventional hydraulic wirecutting actuators and its reduced weight assists in easy installation and safe handling. Inner diameter/rod-type seal design eliminates any stretching or distortion of seals during installation, promoting actuator integrity. Outer cylinder is a structural protective covering providing additional safety to platform workers. Accepts a variety of electrical or mechanical limit switches and comes with a valve position indicator housing to easily mount proximity sensors and other hardware on top of the actuator.

MAW 2012 Series Pneumatic Diaphragm Saf-T-Gard Actuators The Cameron MAW 2012 Series uses stacked pneumatic diaphragm actuators to significantly increase the area affected by applied control pressure, providing more than adequate force to open a surface safety valve against full differential pressure. A unique set of three coil springs maintain a reliable closing force of approximately 8000 psi with reserve capacity to shear 7/32 braided cable. These actuators can be used with all manufacturers gate valves in nominal sizes of 3 to 6. The MAW 2012 Series of wireline cutting actuators provide all the benefits of Saf-T-Gard actuators including: Wireline cutting without the costly need for traditional hydraulic controls. Stacked design permits reduced actuator OD of less than 25, while providing more than 370 square inches of effective diaphragm area. Strong actuator mounting arrangement is not subject to bending and shear forces, withstanding greater separation forces than other actuators on the market. Unique sealing grooves provide additional grip and improve the outer seal of the diaphragm housing. New heavy duty, three-piece spring set delivers accelerated surface safety valve closing and reliable capability. Inner, middle and outer spring configuration minimizes spring stress and fatigue, applying ample wirecutting force at the point of contact.

Manual Hold Open Devices Manual Hold Open Devices are used to manually operate the valve when control pressure is not available. They thread directly to the top of the actuator and are used with 3 valves or smaller to 10,000 psi. These devices are not intended to be left on the actuator for extended periods of time. Three types of Manual Hold Open Devices are offered: Manual Hold Open Device -- Rotating handwheel produces sufficient torque to overcome actuator spring force to open the valve. Manual Hold Open Device with Limit Switches -- This design provides upper and lower limit switches to provide position indication and SSV status. The limit switches are adjustable for valve strokes up to 3. Fusible Manual Hold Open Device -- This version includes a fusible plug for protection under catastrophic conditions. This device provides additional safety shutdown protection during

extended wireline operations. If a fire-based catastrophe occurs, the plug will fuse, allowing the SSV to return to the fail safe position. Fusible Hold Open Device The Fusible Hold Open Device is designed to hold a 0-10,000 psi, 2 through 6 reverse-acting gate valve in the open position during wireline operations and release it in the event of a fire. In addition, a high thrust unit is available for 15,000 psi applications. Like the Manual Hold Open Device, this device is not intended to be left on the actuator for extended periods of time. Additional features include: Mounts on top of any Cameron rising stem, pneumatic or hydraulic actuator. Non-metallic eutectic plug melts when exposed to preset temperature points, allowing the SSV to return to the fail safe position.

Low and High Pressure Assemblies

Model 2200-A Pressure Sensor The Model 2200-A Pressure Sensor may be used as a high or low pressure sensor by selecting the proper instrument pressure port and setting the desired operating pressure. Desired pressure settings are accomplished by adjusting the spring force acting against the spool valve and sensing piston. The spool valve maintains instrument supply, allowing flow through unless sensed pressure drops or rises past the pre-selected settings. When that happens, the spool valve blocks the incoming instrument pressure and back-bleeds the downstream instrument pressure. Features include: Used for pneumatic instrument supply. Block and bleed three-way valve. Has a 1% plus or minus repeatability on set points. Minimum deadband between operation and reset. Springs may be replaced under pressure. Vent above sensing piston prevents high pressure from entering instrument supply should a piston seal leak develop. Materials meet NACE MR-01-75 specifications. Maximum instrument pressure is 250 psi. Viton seals (temperature range -20oF to +400oF, -29oC to 204oC).

Model 3300-A Pull-Type Pilot Relay Valve The Model 3300-A Pull-Type Pilot Relay Valve is a normally closed, block and bleed three-way valve. The relay will stay locked in the normally closed position until the pull knob is pulled out. In this position, the spool valve is pinned with the automatic bypass holding the spool valve open, and allowing actuator pressure to flow through. When instrument pressure is applied to the bottom of the relay piston, the spool valve is moved upward, automatically releasing the automatic bypass pin. As long as instrument pressure is present at the bottom of the relay piston, the relay will stay in operating position. Loss of instrument pressure returns the relay to its locked, closed position and backbleeds the downstream side. In the closed position, the relay is automatically locked closed and must then be manually reset for operation. Features include: Internal lock-closed device. Manual shut-in of SSV by pushing in pull knob. Can control multiple wells individually. Pressure through relay from 0 to 250 psi. Instrument pressure from 30 to 40 psi. Materials meet NACE MR-01-75 specifications. Viton seals (temperature range -20oF to +400oF, -29oC to 204oC). Can be panel mounted. Hole size is 1.5. All ports 1/4 NPTF.

Typical Pneumatically Operated Safety System Saf-T-Gard actuators are used in conjunction with emergency shutdown systems, quick-bleed, test valves, regulators and high/low pressure sensors to monitor and detect the flowing conditions of the well.
