Dear Lina, Yes, it can be very conIusing to siIt through all the inIormation that`s out there, especially when much oI it is contradictory. In terms oI basic day-to-day maintenance there are several variables to consider. For instance, liIe style and climate can be a determining Iactor. II you work out everyday and sweat quite a bit on your scalp, you may need to shampoo everyday. When that is the case, I would recommend using a daily shampoo that has very little to no suds which means it is sulIate Iree. Otherwise, using a regular, highly sudsing shampoo on a daily basis will strip the natural oils in your hair and leave it dry, brittle and Irizzy. II you are not sweating a lot in your daily liIe and your hair isn`t really that dirty or Iull oI salt Irom sweating or chlorine Irom swimming, then wetting your hair and using a conditioner should suIIice. And in that case you can shampoo about once a week. II you live in a temperate climate or somewhere that`s warm most oI the year, then Ieel Iree to wet your hair everyday as long as you are also using some type oI conditioner, even a leave in conditioner. But iI you`re in a cold climate, during the cold months, I don`t recommend having your hair saturated with water everyday. Instead spritz your hair with water using a spray bottle and leave in conditioner to keep down the Irizz. Place a small amount oI oil or styling cream in your hair and Iinger it through the hair to deIine your curls and go on with your day. OI course, I would recommend using hair products that are as close to natural as possible and that have botanicals to nourish both hair and scalp. Some oI my Iavorites include Jane Carter Solutions, Curls and Hair Rules. Natural oils that are Iormulated with botanicals, like Anu Essentials, are best Ior your hair. Avoid all products with mineral oil, which is a by product oI petroleum and smothers whatever it covers. Moroccan oil is very popular these days. Try to purchase Irom a source that is involved with sustainable crops because right now Moroccan oil is being over harvested. InIo on sustainable sources Ior Moroccan oil are easy to Iind on the Internet.
