The Lunch Bunch

$8.00
T-Shirts will be ordered on Friday November 4th and are expected to be in before November 21st.

Students in middle school will be invited to stay in their classrooms for lunch on Tuesdays and Thursdays to complete work missed in class. This will be a time to catch up or get ahead on assignments from any of their classes. The Lunch Bunch will also be a time for silent reading for those students who just wish to work on their reading logs.
If a student is invited to attend, they must come or a NEC will be issued.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS Non Fiction

Students will begin to explore different Non Fiction Writing Styles this month. In this unit we will explore more expository writing, introduce persuasive writing, and complete an author study on Gary Paulsen. I can use the Elements of Nonfiction to compose expository, persuasive essays, and biographies.

SOCIAL STUDIES WITH MS. TEXTOR

The first unit of history, Ancient Greece, has begun. All students started a KWL sheet to preview what they already know and what they want to know about this exciting and interesting civilization. Students will become historians and learn the geography of Greece as well as its people from the past and present. The unit will continue for the next three weeks.

SCIENCE WITH MRS. LEE

A big to the families who were able to donate measuring tools to our classroom this week! We will put them all to good use as we complete a measuring lab next week. Students are also using a Metric Ladder to learn how to properly make conversions.

SCS is working with Scholastic books to participate in a Math*a*thon. This fundraiser will promote math in our school and work to raise money for St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital.

I can use a ruler to draw a scale model of a room in my house. I can use a Metric Ladder to make conversions from unit of measurement to another.
