Logic of the game:

1. Robot will start from lowermost left segment of the track(indicated by start sign).
2. Go up to M-1(mirror 1) position, reaching up to this position will give 5pts.
IF Mirror M1 is ...
present - take left turn at x1
absent - take right turn at x1

3. Then go up to respective M-2 position(either left /right),reaching up to (M2) after

taking correct turn at x1(as indicated by M1) gives another 5 pts.
IF mirror M2 is ...
present - go to mirror 4 (M4)
absent - go to mirror 3 (M3)

4. Go to mirror3 / mirror4 position ,reaching up to (M3/M4) after taking correct

turn at x2 gives another 5 pts.
IF mirror M3/M4 is ...
present - trace the head clockwise
absent - trace the head anticlockwise

5. After encircling the head once in correct direction robot should stop at the
stopping point indicated in diagram. This earns you the last 5 pts.

6. Penalties/Bonus points :
• 2 pts penalty for off board power supply.

• 2 pts penalty for off board controller (i.e use of computer based control).

• Timing bonus : Bonus points based on the time taken to complete entire
track will be calculated as : (1/Time taken in seconds)*200 and will
added(up to 2 decimal places) to above score.
• Participants will be given at the most 4 chances to complete the track.
Average of two best scores will be considered for final judgment.

Facilities Provided:

1. Adequate number of AC main outlets.

2. Two computers will be provided only for re-programming the microcontroller
based robots. Participants must bring their own microcontroller programming
circuit board. No programming device/circuit board/µC flash programmer will be
provided. Participant must take permission from event heads before attaching µC
programming board to PC or installing any software on PCs provided. Event
heads may deny use of PCs provided, with/without any reason, if they feel it
appropriate.

Rules:

1. Maximum participants per team : 4.

2. Robot must fit within the box of size 25x25x25 (cm3)
3. Distance of the guiding mirrors from centre of the track will be adjusted
according to size of the robot.
4. Participants cannot touch the robot once it started. If robot goes off track it will
be placed back at the starting of the track.
5. Robot structure and electronics must be completely made by participating
students. No ready made electronic kits /units, are allowed. However mechanics
sets can be used to make chassis of robot.
6. Robot must be completely autonomous (i.e capable of taking decisions on its own
once powered on). Any kind of manual guiding before giving trial run/ during run
will be disallowed and may lead to disqualification.
7. Toy gear boxes are not allowed.
8. Either robot or team members must not cause damage to the track or else it will
lead to disqualification.
9. Robot must work on DC supply (24V or below). Participants must bring their
own power supplies, no power supplies will be provided by the organizers. Only
230V AC mains outlets will be provided
10.All peripherals required for operation of the robot (including PC incase of, off
board processor) must be brought by participants.
11.Neither organizers nor DBIT committee shall be responsible for respective
robots or any components belonging to the participants, and will in no way be
held responsible in case of any untoward incidents.
12.The decision of the judges will be final and abiding for all arbitrating matters
including but not limited to prices, disqualification and points awarded.
13.Rules for the event may be updated as decided by event heads. However full
information regarding updated rules will available with the event heads and will
be displayed at venue at the time of competition.
14. Schedule for practice sessions will be declared one week prior to the event.
