INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS OF THE POWER ANALYZER

Quick Reference Guide for the EPA2000 Please refer to the Installation Instructions for full details on how to install the EPA2000.

Follow these simple steps:

1. Unpack the EPA2000 2. Power down YOUR system and turn off
power at main circuit breaker

1. Unpack The EPA2000


a. Check the packing list to make sure all of the requested equipment was received. b. Position near the connection point to be tested (be sure the EPA2000 is positioned in an area where it will not be dropped or interfered with). Be careful not to block cooling vents.

2. Power down YOUR system and turn off the power at the main circuit breaker.

3. Power Up The EPA2000


a. Plug the EPA2000 into a nearby power source (120/240 VAC, 50/60 Hz). (If an extention cord is needed, it must be a 3-prong, grounded extention cord). b. Turn the Power Switch ON. c. The EPA2000 will initialize (2 to 3 minutes). Power Switch on EPA2000

4. Connect The Voltage Leads


For Hardwire Setup:
a. Connect the L1, L2 and L3 voltage leads (alligator clip or strip) to the main circuit breaker. Connect the N lead to the Neutral bar (if present), and the G lead to the main chassis or the Ground bar. b. Connect the other end of the voltage leads (right-angle banana plug) into their corresponding color-coded ports on the front panel of the EPA2000.

For A/C Adapter Setup:


a. If you are using an A/C adapter provided by RxMS, unplug your equipment from the wall or from the Power Conditioner. b. Plug your equipment into the female end of the A/C adapter, and plug the male end of the A/C adapter into the receptacle. c. Plug the end of the voltage leads (right-angle banana plug) into their corresponding colorcoded ports on the front panel of the EPA2000. Connect Banana Leads

5. Connect The Current Probes


Connect Current Probes to Panel a. Please note that connecting the current probes is a crucial part of the data gathering process. Please make sure you connect them to ensure that all supporting data is gathered. b. Clamp the current probes around L1, L2, L3, N and G (or all applicable phases) and make sure that there is only one wire clamped in each current probe. c. If you are using an A/C adapter provided by RxMS, please refer to the photos on the left to ensure that you are clamping the current probes to the correct location. d. Make sure that each current clamp is connected to the correct wire and that the direction of the arrow on the clamp is pointing toward your load/system. e. Plug the other end of the current probes into their corresponding ports on the front panel of the EPA2000 (to the right of the color-coded voltage ports).

6. Connect The Temp/Hum Probe


a. Hang the Temp/Hum probe at a minimum height of 6 feet (if possible), and make sure it is not positioned near a door, window, or ventilation unit and plug into the Temp/Hum port on the front panel of the EPA2000.

7. Power Up Your System And Turn It On


a. Press the Green Start button on the EPA2000 and the green light should come on and the monitoring period will begin.

8. Removal of EPA2000 After Monitoring Period


a. Press the Red Stop button and wait for the red stop light to come on. (The Green Start light will turn off) b. Turn off the A/C power. c. Disconnect all test leads and probes. d. Turn off the power switch on the side of the EPA2000. Red and Green Buttons e. The EPA2000 will power down, which may take up to 60 seconds. Please do not move the EPA2000 until the unit has fully powered down and all the lights and fans are off.

9. Fill Out Site Info And Detailed Site Log


a. Please make sure you fully complete the RxMS Site Information sheet with the detailed information of the site and equipment being monitored. Site Information Sheet b. Make sure you leave the Detailed Site Log that was provided with the EPA2000 with your customer. They should use the Detailed Site Log to record any system events that will help RxMS correlate all gathered data to any errors you may be having with your system. c. Please leave the EPA2000 in place for five to seven days of monitoring. Call RxMS at 1-888-329-2321 once you have installed the EPA2000.

10. Uninstall The EPA2000 And Ship Back


a. Power down your system and the main power. b. Unplug the power cord from the EPA2000. c. Disconnect all probes from the EPA2000. d. Pack all equipment in provided shipping case. e. Attach the enclosed FedEx AirBill and ship equipment back to RxMS. FedEx Return Label
