Can we make October, the tenth month, the Tithe Month at First Baptist Church?

What I am asking of each member is to take the month of October and first tithe on your monthly income. Then, if you are already a tither, I am asking you for the month of October to give 10% of your tithe amount above your tithe. Together I believe we can see great things accomplished for the Lord. Why am I asking you to do this? It is because tithing is more than just about money. Tithing is about discipline, dedication, and determination. (Sounds like a sermon) When we tithe we are tithing unto the Lord, not to His church, the preacher, or a program. We are saying to God that we want to be faithful in all areas of our lives. We are acknowledging that as a Christian we are not allowed to pick or choose the parts of our faith we want to follow. And, we are being obedient to the teaching of our Lord Jesus. I believe tithing the tenth month will turn the church around. Tithing will show us what we could do if we all did what we are supposed to do. Come with your tithe into His storehouse and see the blessing you will received. Thanks you to all who made our High Attendance Day a success. 482 in Sunday School was below our goal but still tells us what we could be doing by simply inviting folks to come and be with us. I hope to see you this Sunday in Sunday School and Worship, and with a friend at your side. Paul Memory VerseSeptember 25 2 Corinthians 12:9 But He said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christs power may rest on me.
