Donovan Chisholm 9/20/2011

Doc.2011.9.BP

Product Scope
CHAMELEON is an Anti-Collision, Accident Prevention and Avoidance System, designed to supply the mining industry with a solution to assist in their Health and Safety of the transport environment in their mining operations. 1.1 Introduction A large operational function in the mining industry is the use of extremely large heavy duty machinery and vehicles. These vehicles propose a massive challenge to the operator of such a vehicle, vision is almost entirely obscured, and even with the introduction of CCTV cameras on the rear and some on the side, an operator still cannot keep his eye on 3 cameras and the road and is therefore a further risk. Accidents or collisions have become a regular occurrence on mining operations, these have included heavy duty, light duty vehicles and people. The operator has minimal soft procedural methods to avoid collisions, internal road rules, start up and operational procedures brighter LED lighting, reverse alarms etc. this if used and done correctly are passive preventative measures. Health and Safety measures and procedures are of extreme importance to a mining operation, a collision can cause an effect on this rating to a mine. Therefore it is of great importance that a solution to assist in the prevention of collisions be resolved for mining operations.

1.2 CHAMELEON is a solution designed to be an early warning system to the operator with a all round angle of the area around the vehicle, visual and audio.

2.1 CHAMELEON Solution The CHAMELEON solution is a in-vehicle warning system, audible warning with visual confirmation on a mimic board duplicated with visual on screen camera view. Live operation to the operator, the operator has live alarms and video accessed by the CCTV controller and RFID alert function Live remote access to the system from onsite and offsite location The system can be accessed Live via 3G connectivity and stream to a Control Centre the Live Stream of a camera can be view remotely in the control centre. In case of poor 3G coverage, the information is stored in high quality on the local Hard Drive in the unit. GPS locations of vehicles will be recorded on the Hard Drive. GPS Location can also be accessed remotely via 3G. The system supports a Wi-Fi connection for future use if required. Our cameras are built, designed and manufactured for use specifically in vehicles environments.

The cameras are of very high quality, giving you high quality video footage. All alerts are logged with a time and date stamp (up to 20 000) When a vehicle is within the read range, a buzzer will sound and an LED light will flash, alerting the driver of the danger and from which direction it is approaching. Software is used to configure the LAPS(Long Range Asset Perimeter Scanner) unit, to download transactions and to view tags within the read range while connected to the unit When a vehicle comes within the read range of another vehicle, an LED light will flash, a buzzer will sound and this will trigger the corresponding camera to pop up onto the screen inside the cabin. The driver will not only be alerted to the danger but he will also be able to see what the danger is. Should an incident occur, recorded footage/alerts can be downloaded and viewed/saved which will help to facilitate a full audit report and result in a quick conclusion as to what/who was responsible for the incident. Multiple detection range with increased RPS(read per second) detecting range System reads through adverse mining and weather conditions The power supply is a DC to DC converter and the input range is 12V DC to 36V DC.

2.1 CHAMELEON Benefits The CHAMELEON system has multiple benefits to the operator/driver and the client. This implementation of a electronic collision warning system will greatly increase the clients ability to achieve a fleet operation with reduced interference caused by collisions.

2.2 Driver Visual and audio warning system, electronic activation, independent of driver, automated alerts The warning alerts the driver to other vehicles, people, zones and fixed points that have been loaded in the system A buzzer alarm will identify the direction, integrated with the video system will pop up the camera for the drivers view, the driver then can make active decision from the information received The automated electronic alarm allows for less driver distraction Coded units can allow driver to know instantly the risk, heavy duty vehicle, light duty vehicle, person or object.

The Powerful Playback software can show the Video Playing alongside GPS location the System can be overlaid over Google satellite and terrain maps 2.3 Management Wi-Fi and 3G functions allow for live interaction from management or control room environment to the vehicle and its driver Input/Output (I/O) adapter allows for electronic triggers from the vehicle to create alerts from the vehicle and to the vehicle to be sent and/or received. Example a trigger from an opened door can be an alert that can be flagged in the control room, or a pulse from the vehicles memory module when a warning from the vehicles systems function, such as oil pressure can be a trigger to the CHAMELEON system, this can be flagged live to the control bureau. This can allow the controller to send signal back to the vehicle, which can create a engine cut off or other.

Live video can allow the controller to view the camera positioned directly above the in-cab instruments, from this any information can be observed.

2.3 Accident Audit The CHAMELEON video system records to a internal Hard Drive, which can also be duplicated to a memory card. A accident and the events leading up to the accident can now be fully audited as though you were there live at the time. Cause of accident can be determined Liability can now easily be ascertained The system will give integrated information, with the logged event of the alert given, from this driver action and re-action can be viewed with the recorded video footage.

2.4 Additional benefits Access control can be duplicated with information by this electronically automated system This can be used to identify and utilize certain information such as; the amount of staff or contractors are on any mine and at any given time, how many times has a specific contractor been to site in a day or a month, auditing loads, entries and position of people, items or vehicles. This can assist in the prevention of theft and losses incurred by incorrect manual entries by staff or security. Access control logs can be verified with this independent system.

2.4 Benefit to client First prize is the increased safety to peoples lives. Health and Safety records can be improved dramatically A better HS record can lead to a higher safety star rating, this can assist in increased business. Ability to access information live offers the client additional management ability This can save on losses and therefore a save on bottom line GP. All the above will define a increase in productivity, increased productivity is a sure increase in profits.
