HIZB Al BAHR : Litany of the Sea

10. Keep us steadfast, then , and give us victory.

Subjugate for us this sea.

11. As you subjugated the Sea to Musa (pbuh).

12. And you subjugated the Fire to Ibrahim (pbuh).

13. And you subjugated the Mountains and the Iron to

Daawood. (pbuh)j

14. And You subjugated the Wind and the Demons and
the Jinns to Sulaymaan (pbuh).

15. Subjugate for us every Sea of Yours which is in the
Earth, the heavens, the land, in the universe and every
sea of this World and the hereafter.

16. Subjugate for us everything. Oh You! In Whose

Hand in the dominion over every thing.

17. (Hold the aaa and the eee for six counts. Hold the a
for two counts.)

1. In the Name of Allah, The Merciful, The Mercy
Bestowing

2. Oh Allah, Oh Most High, Oh Exalted, Oh Gentle, Oh

All Knowing.

3. You alone are my Sustainer.. Your Knowledge alone

is sufficient for me.

4. How excellent a Sustainer is my Sustainer, How

excellent a Sufficer is my Sufficer.

5. You aid whom you choose and you alone are the All

Powerful, the Merciful.

6. We ask you for protection in all our movements and

our rests, in our words, in our desires, and our thoughts.

7. From the thoughts and the suspicions and the illusions

that veil our hearts from the perceptions of the Unseen .

8. And truly have the believers been tested and shaken,

shaken severely (33:11)

9. And if the hypocrites and those with doubting hearts
say: Allah and His Messenger did not promise us other
than delusion. (33:12)

28. . Oh my Allah! Make easy for us all our affairs..

with comfort for our hearts and our bodies.

29. And peace and security in our worldly and spiritual

lives.

30. And be to us our Companion in our journey and a

protector of our families.

31. Obliterate the faces of our enemies.

32. Freeze them in their places so that they are unable to

go or come against us.

33. If we willed We would have wiped out their eyes,

then they would have raced to the Way, but how would
they see? (36:66)

34. If we willed We would have frozen them in their
places, neither could they go forth or return. (36:67)

35. (Hold second letter for six counts.)

18. Help us, for surely you are the best of helpers.

19. And give us victory, for surely you are the best giver
of victory.

20. And forgive us, for you are the best of Forgivers.

21. And have mercy on us for you are the best of those
who show Mercy.

22. And give us sustenance, for surely you are the best
of those who give sustenance

23. And Guide us and deliver us from the hands of the

oppressors.

24. And grant us a fair wind according to Your

Knowledge.

25. Waft it upon us from the treasures of Your Mercy.

26. Carry us by the conveyance of Your Generosity with

Peace and Well Being in our spiritual life and our
worldly life to come.

36. By the Wisdom Reading.

27. Surely you have power over everything (3:26)

47. He let forth the two seas that come together; between
them is a barrier they do not pass. (55:19-20)

48. [Say Ha Meeem six times pointing to the right and
forward, upwards and downwards, left and behind,
saying internally: "By Allah all evil and catastrpphe
coming from these six directions is erased. By the
Barakah of these letters, good comes from the six
directions."
Say Ha Meeem the seventh time breathing into your
upraised hands and then pass them across your face. At
the same time imagine Ha Meeem written in light within
and across your breast from right to left.]

49. The task has become hot and help has arrived. They
therefore cannot achieve victory over us.

50. Ha Meeem. The Book came down from Allah, The

All Mighty, The All Knowing. (40:1-2)

37. Truly you are from the Messengers.

38. On a Straight Way.

39. Sent down by the All Mighty, the Mercy Bestowing.

40. So that you may warn a people whose forefathers

were never warned and sot they are heedless.

41. The Word has been proved true by most of them yet
they will not believe.

42. Behold! We have placed shackles around their necks

reaching up to their chins so that their heads are forced
up.

51. The Forgiver of sin , the Accepter of repentance,

Severe in punishment , The Bountiful.

43. And we have set a barrier before them and a barrier

behind them and We have covered them up so that they
cannot see. (36:1-9)

52. There is none worthy of worship besides him, to

Him, is the final return. (40:3)

53. In the Name of Allah is our door.

54. Tabaraka our walls.

44.May the faces be defaced (3x)

45. Faces shall be humbled before (Allah) The Ever

Living, The Self-Subsistent; frustrated is he who carries
oppression. (20: 111)

55. Ya Seeen our roof

56. Kaaaf Ha Ya `Ayeeen Saaad our sufficiency

46. (Hold the aaa and the eee for six counts. Hold the a
for two counts.)

66. In the Name of Allah with whose Name no harm

shall come to anything on the earth or in the skies and He
is All Hearing and All Knowing.

67. I take refuge in the Perfect Words of Allah from the

evil of what He created.

68. And there is no Power and no Might except with
Allah, The Exalted, The Glorious.

57. Ha Meeem `Ayeeen Seeen Qaaaf our refuge

58. And Allah will suffice for you against them and He is
the All Hearing, the All Knowing (2:137)

59. The veil of the Arsh is hanging over us, the sight of
Allah is directed towards us

60. Through the help of Allah no one will have control

over us.

61. And Allah has surrounded them from all sides.

(85:20)

62. Truly it is a Glorious Reading, in the preserved

Tablet (85:21,22)

63. And Allah alone is the Best Protector and He is the

Most Merciful of the merciful (12:92)

64. Truly my Protector is Allah who sent down The Book

and it is always he who is the helper of the pious (7:196)

65. Sufficient for me is Allah, there is no deity other than

He, on Him I place my trust, He is the Lord of the
Glorious Throne. (9:129)

This completes the Hizb. It is customary on completion to read the following;

Wa salla-llahu `alaa Sayyidinaa wa Nabiyyinaa wa `Ameerinaa wa Mawlaanaa wa Shafee`inaa

wa Habeebinaa Muhammad, Taahaa, Yaa Seen, Haa Meem, Khaatimi n-Nabiyyeen. Al Mursali
Rahmata lil`aalameena min Rabbi l-`aalameena . Salla-llahu `alayhi wa Sallam.
And the Greetings of Allah upon our Leader and Prophet and Commander and Protector and
Intercessor and Beloved Muhammad Ta Ha, Ya Seen, Ha Meem, Seal of the Prophets. The
Messenger of Mercy to all the Worlds from the Sustainer of the Worlds. Greetings of Allah and Peace
be upon him.
Wa sallamun `alaa jamee`u l-Anbiyaa'I wa l-Mursaleena wa jamee`u l-Malaa'ikati l-muqarribeena
wa r-da `an ahli l-Kisaa'I wa aali l-Bayti l-Kiraam, wa Ashaabihi ajma`een wa t-Taabi`eena wa
taaba`eehima wa jamee`I mashaykhinaa wa murabbeenaa wa murshideenaa ilaa Allahi ta`alaa
bi ihsaanin ilaa yaawmi d-deen.
And peace be upon all of the Prophets and Messengers, and all of the Angels Brought Near, and
contentment be upon the People of the Cloak and the Family of the Noble House, and upon all of the
Companions and Followers and their Followers, and all of our Venerable Masters and those who
Foster us, and our Guides to Allah, The Most High, with abiding goodness to the Day of Judgement.
Subhaana Rabbika Rabbi l-`Izzati `ammaa yasifoona, wa salaamun `alaa l-Mursaleena wa lHamdu li-llahi Rabbi l-`aalameena.
Glorified be your Sustainer, The Lord of Glory and Mercy, beyond all which they attribute, and Peace
be upon the Messengers, and Praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. (37:180-182)
Alfu Salaamin, Alfu Salaamin, Alfu Alfu Salaamin, fee Quloobinaa.
Thousand-fold Peace, Thousand-fold Peace, Thousand thousand-fold Peace in our Hearts.
