Plans and give comprehensive and quality care to patient according to their individual needs. Observes, assesses, reports and records symptoms and conditions of patients. Administer medications, treatment and other procedures and notes reactions. Delegates simple procedures to nursing aids as the need arises and supervise s that care. Assist physicians in administering highly specialized therapy and performing complex procedures. Regularly updates the charge nurse about patients condition.

As a triage nurse As an OPD nurse Provides immediate care such as vital signs taking, IV insertion, and administering physician directed test or treatments to all critically ill patients. Assists doctors in minor surgical procedures. Renders quality nursing care to patient according to their individual needs. Administer medication to patient as ordered by the physician. Substitutes for a charge nurse when so delegated. Accompanies and endorses admitted patients to floor staff nurse for continuity of care. Checks E- cart every shift as to completeness and make monthly inventory. Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of the unit Participates in all activities of the Nursing service Department Performs and complies with all systems and procedures affecting quality.

JOB DESCRIPTION AS ER CHARGE NURSE: Renders direct nursing care to patients Helps provide a clean, safe comfortable and orderly environment for patients and personnel Prepares a well planned assignment for the nursing staff and sets short term goals for the unit Assesses the readiness of the unit as to cope with emergencies. Supervises the nursing care given and the administration of medications and treatments to patient by the nursing staff Monitors timely accomplishment of patient care activities and other activities of the unit Carries out the doctors orders and monitors its timely implementation by the nursing staff Makes referrals to doctors and other health care team members as indicated Provides assistance needed by doctors and other professional staff and coordinates with them in meeting patients needs Reviews documentation of patients chart for completeness and accuracy Conducts post duty conferences with team members as needed Participates actively in all hospital and department activities.
