culture and ethos gives us the position of leadership amongst all other colleges imparting undergraduate
business education in India.

In today’s economy, a sound managerial education is a pre-requisite to success. In this scenario, CBS offers
an exalted position by providing excellent management education right at the undergraduate level.

“CBS helped me in building and strengthening a business background which enabled

me to secure an admission in IIMC and perform well academically as well as in the final
placements.
The two months of summer internship and a very well developed curriculum go a long
way in providing an edge in terms of business knowledge and exposure to CBSites.”

More than one way to learn
Our Teaching Methodology

CBS aims at helping you to achieve a balance between academic rigor and exposure to a wide variety of
experiences in commerce, industry and government, which is a necessity of modern management.

The different forces that drive learning at CBS are:

(1) Initiative- towards action, achieving goals, no questions asked.
(2) Leadership- with dynamism and empathy.
(3) Teamwork - to achieve synergy.
(4) Inquisition - never accept status quo and always strive for excellence.

These four ideals drive us at CBS and foster an atmosphere where you excel and achieve, with concern for the
environment, and an underlying integrity. These ideals have shaped CBSites into mature, goal-driven
professionals, with innovation, dynamism and a positive spirit.

“The eclectic mix of students which CBS consistently attracts, coupled with a very relevant
and practical curriculum makes the three years a very thrilling, action packed and enriching
period. We are unlike other colleges in University of Delhi which are practically dormant
through out the year and just liven up before the year end exams.
The three years in CBS have helped in shaping the right perspective and thought process in
me. I treasure all the experiences, interactions and friendships I developed in those WONDER
YEARS of my life.”

“The best job is being a faculty member at CBS. I get to work with
great colleagues and bright and accomplished students, who are
committed to learning and becoming better leaders and managers.
Being in the classroom is a source of continual stimulation for me. I
endeavor to get students involved in a forum for ideas and interaction.
No matter what pedagogy I use, my students are active participants.
They teach each other and they teach me. Often this is through case
incidents and substantive discussion of issues.”

Dr. Poonam Verma

Faculty - Marketing and Organisational Behaviour

“The college provides challenging, stimulating & relevant course

curricula. We expect hard work, commitment & focus from our
students & seek to develop in them a set of skills and attitudes
that will make them contribute positively to a complex, global
society.”

Ms. Anuja Mathur

Faculty - Business Policy and Strategy

“With a ticket to the Delhi College of Engineering and BITS Pilani,

CBS was a not-so-obvious choice for me. I always wanted to be a
Human Resource professional. Instead of taking a longer way i.e.
doing engineering and following it with MBA, I chose to do BBS.”

LIFE AND LEARNING BEYOND THE CLASSROOM
A lifelong spirit of ‘Anything is possible; Just take the initiative and lead.’

Along with an intense educational experience, you have ample opportunity to enjoy life as well. We support events and
activities in the form of more than fifteen clubs that run the gamut from purely social to strictly professional.
Given the number of new activities emerging each year, balancing your time with conflicting interests is a leadership
challenge that you face from the very first day on campus.
These activities include but certainly are not limited to:
ˆ Convergence – Industry Academics Seminar
A two day seminar, the event is spread over four sessions covering areas of Finance, Marketing, Human Resource
Management, and Information Technology.
Convergence facilitates interaction with corporates. Experts are invited as speakers to share their views on a
theme, followed by interactive sessions.
ˆ Reminiscence – Alumni Network: A life long community
The alumni dinner, hosted to bring together our most valuable asset. Our alumni play leading roles in organizations
around the world. The highly selective programme results in a uniquely committed and responsive alumni
community. Relationships forged with classmates and faculty during the SSCBS experience become lifelong
connections.
ˆ Crescendo – Business & Cultural Festival
The annual SSCBS fest witnesses a congregation of thousands of students from across the country who slog it
out to be the best. The events are a balance of managerial competitions such as Case Study Analysis, Business Plan
Competition, Apprentice, & cultural competitions like Music, Dramatics, and Fashion Show.
ˆ CBS [Creating Breakthrough Stage] – The Dramatics Society
ˆ Dhwani – The Music Society
ˆ Financial Wizards – The Inter College Stock Market Simulation Game
ˆ Illuminati – The Quizzing Club
ˆ Kartavya – Creating Social Impact

“I was looking for an education that would offer me academic essentials along with
multiple opportunities to develop people management skills. Given a family business
background, I have always valued personal networking. CBS provided me with great
exposure to achieve all that I wanted. At the end of these three years, I am equipped to
go back to my family business and create new value.”

classroom learning with practical applications.

“The organizations where I did both my summer internships, had vast

cultural differences. Especially SAMI, whose workforce included people
from all parts of world. So, the cultural dynamics which were involved
were extremely essential for the successful working of the organization.
CBS prepared me to be in such diverse environments and cultures,
and also helped me in dealing with the constantly changing and
competitive corporate work ethos.”

“After studying medical sciences in school, CBS was a serendipitous turn of fate. The Group
Discussion culture at CBS emphasizes that in real life we don’t have perfect answers to all
questions. One must not stick to preconceived notions. The right approach and an open mind is
what matters. Make the best of what comes your way. At times the right thing is not what we

“If a successful corporate career is your dream – wouldn’t you want a 3-year
advantage over the others? How many undergrad colleges make it a point to go
beyond classes and teach you the softer skills that distinguish a “doing well” career
from “successful” one? The advantage becomes immediately visible even during
the MBA – where a CBS-ite is at ease applying management fundamentals on cases
while batchmates struggle to read through the content.”

“CBS is a lot of sweat and toil, requiring you to stretch your limits to compete against brilliant peers. At the same time I
have found close friends, with whom I have spent many light-hearted moments that will always be cherished. CBS will
mould you into a mature, observant and focused individual. It will instill a strong base of managerial knowledge that has

OUTSTATION STUDENTS
As an outstation student you enjoy an unexpected advantage during your CBS experience. Though the college
presently does not have on-campus residential facility, we help you avail PG accommodation close to the
college. Being a short walk away from campus at all times results in your being more actively involved in the
college activities than the local students.

TRAVEL
At CBS, students from all over Delhi and the National Capital Region congregate for an unparalleled business
experience. On a given day, some of our students travel as much as 40 kilometers to reach CBS. They confess
that the distance actually renews their commitment to absorb the maximum learning each day.

We are comfortably connected with the whole city through the Delhi Metro and other modes of public
transportation. The Shahdara Metro Station is less than a kilometer away from campus. Some students use
private transportation. Car pools are another popular mode of commuting.

NEW DELHI

New Delhi, the birthplace of Indian Democracy, and bureaucracy, is

among the country’s liveliest and most diverse cities.
It puts you right in the heart of the Indian subcontinent. The worldview
here is an integration of business and diplomacy.

AROUND CAMPUS

The fun quotient at CBS is emerging as the object of envy of other colleges from the University of Delhi.
Within an intimate radius of the campus are finest malls (CrossRiver, Pacific, EDM,…) and multiplexes.
The international standard Yamuna Sports Complex and the Central Business District are a stone’s throw
away.

“I was all set to pursue my undergraduate management education in Singapore. Then I
read the BusinessWorld article that Asia’s second best undergraduate B-school is right here
in Delhi. I entered CBS expecting a serious time ahead of me. But here we redefined fun.
From night long drives around the city where we discussed the morning presentation to
parties whose details cannot be described on this forum, we do it all.”
