Grace Church is a community of changed people who are committed to serving and renewing the greater Dunedin area

through a movement of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Hello friends, supporters, and encouragers of Grace Church of Dunedin, as many of you already know, Grace Church is officially in a pre-launch phase preparing for our first Sunday morning service on February 5th! We are thanking God for his faithfulness in the work that hes already accomplished in the assimilating of this new church! The mission and vision for Grace Church is clear and we have been meeting with our Core Team (i.e., those who already feel called to be a part of Grace Church and are actively helping us get ready for our launch). There is still much work to be done; but we are keeping the truth of Christ's promise that HE will build HIS church in the forefront of our my minds (Matthew 16:18). For sure, the launch of Grace Church will require a lot of effort, sacrifice, and planning on our end, but were remembering the REAL work behind the mission of the church is God's, not ours. To help us understand this inspiring and empowering truth about Gods passion in the building of His church and in the completing his mission of redemption, biblical scholar Christopher Wright states, "Mission, then, in biblical terms, while inescapably involves us in planning and action, is not primarily a matter of our activity or our initiative. Mission from the point of view of our human endeavor, means the committed participation of Gods people in the purposes of God for the redemption of the whole creation. The mission is Gods. The marvel is that God invites us to join in." I hope that challenges and encourages you as much as it does me! Our Plan for Grace Church of Dunedin: Grace Church is a church plant project of Grace Christian Fellowship of Largo, Florida (where I have had the joy of being the Associate Pastor and serving alongside Randy Evans for 12 years). Led by a plurality of elders, Grace Church will seek to be a community of changed people who are committed to serving and renewing the greater Dunedin area through a movement of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We desire to be missional ever looking for ways to show and share the Good News of the Gospel within our community. We desire to be reproducing actively raising up new ministry leaders and working toward new church plant projects, both locally and abroad. We desire to see our people in community and discipled encouraging our congregation to consider how each one may "spur one another on toward love and good deeds" (Heb. 10:24). Our Community Groups will begin in January. These smaller groups of people (5-20), meeting throughout the greater Dunedin area in homes and places for public gathering, will provide an opportunity to build relationships, to help and strengthen one another, and to encourage each other to practice being a sent people (John 20:21).

Our Sunday morning worship service (which we are calling our Sunday Morning Gathering) will begin on February 5th. Well be meeting in the auditorium of my old school, Dunedin High (yes, the one I was expelled fromGod has a sense of humor!), and our service will begin at 10am. This is exciting stuff! A new Gospel presence is coming to the greater Dunedin area! Will you prayerfully consider being a part of what God is doing? Giving During our Pre-Launch Phase: Were asking those who have the ability to give boldly to this project, to do so through a large onetime gift or through gifts spread over a two-year period. Were also asking those with lesser resources to boldly give what they can, either through a one-time gift or ongoing giving.
