GENERAL This Lubrication Order (LO) is for operator or field maintenance. The localized views (LV A LV AG) illustrate the specific lubrication items on the Bituminous Material Paving Machine (BMPM). Lube intervals (on-condition or hardtime) are based on normal operation. Lube more during constant use and less during inactive periods. Use correct grade of lubricant for seasonal temperature expected. Engine, transmission, and hydraulic system oil filters shall be changed: a) When they are contaminated or known to be clogged. b) At prescribed hard time intervals. Clean all fittings and areas around lubrication points with dry cleaning solvent or equivalent before lubricating equipment. After lubrication, wipe off excess oil or grease to prevent accumulation of foreign matter. Before you start your lube service: ALWAYS a) Clean grease fittings before lubrication. b) Use the lubrication order as your guide. NEVER a) Use wrong type/grade grease. b) Use too much lubricant. Army Oil Analysis Program (AOAP) Sampling Statement This BMPM is not enrolled in the AOAP. HARDTIME INTERVALS APPLY. Warranty Hardtime Statement For equipment under manufacturers warranty, hardtime oil service intervals shall be followed. Intervals shall be shortened if lubricants are known to be contaminated or if operation is under adverse conditions such as longer than usual operating hours, extended idling periods, extreme dust, etc.

NOTES: 1. Engine Oil. If engine has been running, wait 10 minutes for oil to drain back into the oil pan before checking. Oil level should be between the Add and Full marks on the engine oil level gage. Change engine oil every 100 hours. 2. Engine Oil Filter. The engine oil filter should be changed with every engine oil service. 3. Engine Coolant. Coolant level in recovery tank must be between hot and cold lines on the side of the coolant reservoir. If no coolant level is visible in coolant reservoir, remove radiator cap and add coolant to radiator and recovery tank. Change engine coolant every 500 hours. 4. Hydraulic System Oil. Check the hydraulic oil level from the liquid sight indicator. Drain and fill the hydraulic tank every 500 hours. 5. Hydraulic Charge Filter. The hydraulic charge filter is to be replaced every 250 hours or whenever a complete hydraulic oil flush is performed. 6. Hydraulic Return Filter. The hydraulic return filter is to be replaced every 250 hours or whenever a complete hydraulic oil flush is performed. 7. Drive Torque Hub. Check the torque hub oil every 100 hours and add oil as necessary. Oil should come out from the check plug on the torque hub. If it does not, remove the fill plug and fill torque hub. Change the oil in the drive torque hubs every 500 hours. 8. Conveyor Torque Hub. Change the oil in the conveyor torque hubs every 500 hours. 9. Conveyor Drive Chains. Lubricate conveyor drive chains daily with chain lube. 10. Grease Fittings. Lubricate each grease fitting In Accordance With (IAW) Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS). Card 17 of 18/Card 18 of 18 blank 11. Fuel Filter. Replace the fuel filter every 500 hours. 12. Spin-On Fuel Filter. Replace the spin-on fuel filter every 500 hours. 13. Double Pump Drive Oil. Change the oil in the double pump drive every 500 hours. 14. Auger Drive Chains. Lubricate auger drive chains daily with chain lube. 15. Screed Crown Chains.
