ELIGIBILITY for E-JUST

No . 1 2 Condition Age Educational Background and Records Requirements Applicants should be under 30 years on February 1, 2010 MSc applicants should have a Bachelor degree with an outstanding scholastic average. A minimum grade-point average (GPA) of 3.0 (equivalent to a grade B or a percentage record of 80-85%) is required. PhD applicant should have Bachelor and MSc (thesis-based) degrees with outstanding scholastic averages. A minimum grade-point average (GPA) of 3.0 (equivalent to a grade B or a percentage record of 80-85%) is required. TOEFL Paper: 550, minimum. TOEFL CBT: 213, minimum. TOEFL iBT:79, minimum. Applicants must pass successfully the following E-JUST examinations and interviews; Entrance examination including Analytical Ability Assessment; Personal and academic interviews including Research Proposal Presentation and Discussion.

INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS
Graduates of recognized academic institutions outside Egypt should have completed Bachelor (or MSc) degree programs representing a minimum of 16 (or 18) years of schooling with at least 12 years at the primary and secondary level. Required Records: Submit official transcripts or academic records for all university-level studies you have completed abroad and at Egyptian institutions. If your academic records do not include official evidence of the award of your degree, you must also submit additional documents that verify its award. For information about the documents required for an initial review of your application, contact the department or program to which you are applying.

Academic records should be issued in their original languages accompanied by English translations (usually prepared by your university or an official translator). In general, records or transcripts must be issued by the school and include the schools stamp or embossed seal and the signature of the authorizing official

SCHOLARSHIPS TERMS and CONDITIONS


The Scholarships term is the period necessary to complete the degree requirements in E-JUST, which should be within two years for the MSc degree and three years for the PhD degree; The Scholarships support is dependent upon the student good standing with the E-JUST graduate program in which he/she is registered. An evaluation report is sent every six months to the sponsor reporting about the students study level, including the student transcript, academic advisor report, and the updated student research; Scholarships are full-time scholarships. This means that E-JUST students are fully devoting to their study in E-JUST and are not allowed to work elsewhere during their scholarships period.

APPLICATION and ADMISSION PROCEDURE 1. Submission: Application including selection of three research topics, prioritized by the applicant, in different research areas; 2. Documentation: Internal work for E-JUST. It includes classifying, analyzing, and preparing the result release; 3. Document Screening; 4. Result Release (including assignment of a specific research topic); 5. English language placement test: a. For domestic applicants, the English test will be held in Information Technology Training Center (ITTC), English Language Department, Faculty of Arts, Alexandria University; b. For International applicants, a valid TOFEL score should be submitted 6. Interviews: Personal and academic interview including a written assessment and research proposal presentation; 7. Admission Result Release; 8. Registration.

ENTRANCE EXAMINATION Students are required to pass successfully an entrance examination that focuses on the students academic background in the related program and on their analytical abilities. PERSONAL INTERVIEW Students are personally interviewed and assessed according to the following Criteria: Ability to express himself orally Personality and appearance Previous Experience Leadership Capabilities Team working skills Self Confidence Research Potential Hard Work Analytical Skills RESEARCH PROPOSAL PRESENTATION The requested research proposal should include the following points: Research theme that conforms the National Research Agenda and that of E-JUST. Reason(s) of selection of the research theme. Expected outputs Research plan (approach and procedure) Carrier path after graduation from E-JUST References The candidate conducts a 15-minute presentation by PPT (Power Point Presentation) for his/her research proposal in front of an evaluation committee. The presentation is followed by 15-minute discussion with the candidate to evaluate the main points given in the research proposal and to evaluate the candidates research potential.
