GEDUNG CYBER 2, Lantai 10-11-12-14 Jalan H.R.

Rasuna Said Blok X-5 no 13 Jakarta Selatan 12950 Telp 021 2996 1000 AQUA Danones 2003 social welfare program was called Encouraging Indonesian Children to Read. This time, AQUA selected Pandaan, specifically the Karang Jati elementary school, as the location for this pilot program. The local office of the Department of National Education, as the director of the program had renovated one of the elementary school classrooms and changed its function to that of a library. As it turned out, this was the first ever library to be developed in the area. Before this library opened, the local children had to walk 3 km to a neighboring village to get reading materials. This library immediately became the pride of the entire local community, whose residents felt it would enrich their lives. The involvement of the AQUA branch office in Pandaan included the collection of 400 books (booth new and used) and a cash donation, as well as assistance with the construction of the library space, played a major role in the success of this program. . AQUA Danones Concern about HIV/AIDS (since 2004) HIV/AIDS is the greatest health threat in the world, mainly because of the large number of people infected with HIV worldwide, with the figure still rising. One of the most strategic and effective means of lowering the rate of infection is through the dissemination of information the carrying out of educational drive to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS. AQUA has long contributed to this effort to get information to the public. Regreening Program in Klaten (Since October 2003) The AQUA factory expansion program in Klaten, has been undertaken synergetically with a regreening program. Among the steps taken thus far has been the replanting of large trees in around the AQUA processing facilities there for shade as well as for environmental protection. Klaten Cares (August 14 through September 26, 2003) The dry season on the island of Java tends to result in the drying up of water sources. The AQUA factory in Klaten made an effort to reduce the impact of this seasonal drought with the distribution of 200,000 liters of water (in tanker trucks). This social concern action benefited 40 families living in Jiwan village in Karangnongko District, Klaten Regency. Scholarship in Babakan Pari (June 27, 2003)

AQUA Danone is very concerned about the communities surrounding its production facilities. One of its ways of showing this concern is the provision of scholarships to local school age children. As part of this program, on June 27, 2003 AQUA Danone granted scholarships to students at the Babakan Pari I Elementary School during a ceremony held in the schoolyard there. AQUA Assists Farmers (October 18, 2003) PT Tirta Investama (AQUA Group) pays close attention to the needs of the public aroundproduction sites, including the area farmers. One of the ways to show this social concernwas to provide assistance in the form of two head of dairy cattle to the farmers of SidoDadi, Gerdaren Village, Jatinom, on October 18, 2003. The presentation of the livestock was witnessed by the manager of the AQUA factory at Klaten, Prihadi Eko Wiratmo. This benefit of this program will be evaluated, and if the program is considered effective, it will be continued to include other farming communities near the factory site. Besides donating milk cows, AQUA has also helped develop organic farming in the Klaten area. AQUA Assists Drought Victims (2002) Throughout the dry season drought of 2002, AQUA provided assistance in the form of more than 400,000 liters of clean water to the villagers of Jiwan Village, Klaten Regency, Central Java. During the peak of the dry season (September October), this fresh water assistance was sent in 3 times a week, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. A similar program was carried out in Bekasi, West Java, with 15,000 liters of water from AQUA, and in Yogyakarta, Central Java, with the sending in of 50,000 liters from AQUA, with another 360,000 liters distributed in other areas of Central java as well. AQUA for Environment AQUA Employees and Farmers Clean Capillary Irrigation Channels Irrigation networks, predominantly used to provide water to farmland, are vital infrastructure because they support the production of the grain/rice needed to meet the needs of a vast segment of the public. The problem of shortages of water for agricultural purposes due to poorly maintained and damaged irrigation channels is an issue that deserves careful consideration. Local planting patterns, the presence of PT Tirata Investama in Klaten, water management, and the lack of cooperation among farmers in relation to maintaining the local irrigation network were all contributing factors to the increasingly complex problem of water shortages.

This problem came to the attention of PT. Tirta Investama in Klaten, which held a community social welfare activity in response. As a concrete sign of commitment to the local community this enterprise became a member of the Capillary Irrigation Network Coordination Forum, Ponggok KananKiri, whose purpose was to ensure the equitable utilization of the water conveyed through the Ponggok Kanan and Kiri Capillary Irrigations Network. This Forum, established on December 16, 2004at the initiative of the Klaten Regency Water Sub-agency. The site of the Klaten factory was located in the area of the water source for the Sigedang Capillary Network, which was used for irrigation purposes. As a part of the local Klaten community,PT. Tirta Investama became involved in playing a role in overcoming the problems occurring, including by motivating the farmers and other water users in the area of the Capillary channels to cooperate in repairing and maintaining the irrigation network. In this way, the optimal utilization of the Capillary irrigation network could be restored step by step. For this effort, PT.Tirta Investama Klaten contributed ideas to and supported all activities relating to the Mutual Assistance (Gotong Royong) Movement for the Cleaning and repair of the Capillary Network, which was implemented by the DI Capillary Coordination Forum, Ponggok Kanan-Kiri. The main activity was carried out on Sunday morning, September 18, 2005 and involved 250 water users, such as farmers, employees of PT. Tirta Investama, representatives of the local water agency, PDAM, local residents, officials of the Water Sub-Agency, Mantri Air, local Police officers, and Karang Anom District officials, among others. The participants, who originated from 5 districts (Polanharjo, Karang Anom, Ceper, Pedan, and Trucuk) joined into the activity enthusiastically. Even the Head of the Water SubAgency, Djoko Wiryanko, the Karang Anom police chief, and a number of other local officials participated, not one showed any reluctance to get into the water channels to dredge out the trash that was clogging up the water channels. This activity was covered by several print media, and local radio and television stations. The PT Tirta Investama Klaten Team sent a representation of 10 employs led by Emma Siti Rochmah (Plant Manager), accompanied by Abdul Hadi (HR CSR) and Arifin Rahman (Chairman of the PC SPDAG Klaten). This activity is a part of the implementation of the CorporateSocial Responsibility concept in which corporations, including their employees, as a part of the local community, become involved in the development of the community and in the overcoming of problems facing the community.

All of the participants of this activity, who had been provided with and wore AQUA T-shirts, cleaned the irrigation channels with great enthusiasm. Toward midday, all of theparticipants took a break and enjoyed a lunch of farm fare. AQUA for Customer AQUA Cares AQUAs concern for its customers is clear from its efforts to ensure the quality of its product. AQUA has set several important policies into place in line with its quality control program: In 1980, AQUA shifted its operations from the simple tapping of ground water to theprocessing of mountain spring water. This was done in order to secure a top qualityproduct for its customers. In 1985, AQUA continued to improvise quality of its products by utilizing PET (the besttype of plastic for food and beverage products) packaging.AQUA carefully protects thepurity of its product, from the spring source through to the quality control processes atmarket outlets. AQUAs processing process, known as the hydro pro system, functions toendure the purity of every drop of AQUA bottled water. The mountain spring water that is the source for AQUA bottled water is protected and guarded from contamination of any kind. Strict control procedures are undertaken daily to ensure the quality of the source water. AQUA uses in line process system technology, which involves the application of automatic procedures staring from the production of bottles, which are filled, capped and sealed immediately, then labeled and packed. This process is carried out in a sterile space without the product being touched by any human hand; the first of its kind in Indonesia, and up until now the only such process to be implemented within the bottled water industry. AQUA has also done many other things to show its concern for its loyal customers.
