Youth Sunday In the hymn Hail, Redeemer, King Divine! we sing : King most holy, King of truth, guide the lowly, guide the youth. The feast of Christ the King has, in recent years, been designated Youth Sunday - an opportunity for us to pray for the young people of our parish, that they will hear the word of God spoken to them and be guided in their own lives by that word. At Mass this weekend, Rosie Whalley will speak about her experience at the World Youth Day meeting with Pope Benedict in Madrid in August. We congratulate Rosie also for having gained a place on the Animate Youth Ministry Team with the Archdiocese beginning next September. On 24th March 2012 the Catholic Youth Ministry Federation are holding a National Youth Congress at Wembley Arena for young Catholics from Year 10 to Young Adults (you can decide yourselves if you qualify!) Coaches will be departing from across the Archdiocese, leaving early and getting back late. Anyone interested in going should let me know.
Flower Arranging : Wednesday at 1.30pm in the Smith Room to prepare Christmas Pots. Please bring a pot of your choice with pebbles in the bottom or a Christmas spray with a container. Christmas Fayre in conjunction with Our Ladys School P.T.A. will take place on Friday 9th December from 2pm. If you have any gifts/prizes for the Tombola and the Raffle please put them in the box at the back of church. Vocations Team : Next monthly meeting for anyone aged 13-18 thinking about the Priesthood will be held on Sunday 4th December at St Marys, Lowe House from 5pm followed by the Youth Alive Mass. Archbishop Kelly is celebrating his Golden Jubilee of Ordination to the Priesthood with Mass in the Cathedral on Sunday 19 February 2012 at 3pm. As a gift from the Archdiocese a specially designed Crozier has been commissioned. If anyone would like to make a contribution towards this, a fund will be open for the next 2-3 weeks.
