Per Session Opportunities

Hello Title 2D Participants!

Below are per session opportunities scheduled for the next two months. These are paid per session opportunities to learn
about the Web 2.0 tools you will be using to create your Title 2D grant projects and to enhance teaching and learning in
every classroom. These workshops support our Title 2D projects but can also be taken by staff members in your school. Per
session will be paid for projects created during classes. A priority is to you, as a Title 2D school, but if you have friends in
your building or other schools, who you know may be interested, forward it to them as well.

DESIGNING A CLASSROOM PROJECT WITH SOCIAL MEDIA -- Learn how today YouTube generation is making its mark on
the digital world, and how you can leverage social media to create an authentic audience for your student projects.
Participants will learn how to use ubiquitous media capture devices with Windows Movie Maker and Audacity to create
digital media as instructional learning modules toward the goal of fostering student created media projects.

CONNECTED LEARNING COMMUNITIES (CLC)-ONLY PROJECT ICT STAFF


ICT GRANT participants will manage their CLC. They will develop their Climate Schools Project. Participants will share
projects on their school's CLC, develop plans for their role in Climate School’s project, and work within their professional
learning community to identify resources for the implementation of their projects.

BLOGGING TO THE NEXT LEVEL


Learn how to take your blog to the next level to engage and enhance all curriculum areas and support projects. By using the
advanced features of the blog you can add links, attachments, video, pictures and rss feeds. Students will be learning while
using activities in a digital classroom space that allows them to communicate and publish for the world.

ONLINE ASSESSMENT –On Day 1 & 2, participants will use an online survey tool and design an online assessment (create
questions, scan questions, identify skills or standards) to target the unique learning needs and styles of students. On Day 3,
participants will assess data to provide differentiated instruction and resources for students.

HISTORICAL JIGSAW WITH COLLABORATIVE TIMELINES- Learn how to create a historical jigsaw using a free online
collaborative timeline. Incorporate your Social Studies curriculum and have your students study time periods in history.
Participants will share and collaborate with each other.

Web Literacy for Educators - This workshop will help educators effectively navigate the Internet to find, sort, and evaluate
information in a variety of formats. This course illustrates how educators can search across all content areas and grade
levels and can use the Internet to strengthen students' critical thinking skills. Participants will develop and share methods to
conduct smarter, faster, and more productive research, as well as basic steps to help learners judge information for quality
and validity, and develop tips to avoid plagiarism

PODCASTING TO ENHANCE LITERACY - Podcasting for Educators will provide opportunities for educators to infuse this
student voice into the learning process, and to enhance literacy.
