The authority to amend the Constitution of the United States is derived from

Article V of the Constitution. A Vote by Two Thirds of Congress is required to just

propose an amendment to the Constitution. The amendment has to then be ratified
by at least Three Fourths of the States. It is historically difficult to get agreement by
38 States. No president has the power to change the constitution.
Some great dangers to the Constitution have come from Supreme Court
interpretations but these can always be reversed. So far these have not extended to
declaring Constitutional Amendments invalid.
The greatest danger to the constitution has come from abuse of presidential
powers. The administration in power from year 2000 through 2008 has declared itself
immune to the law of the land in many cases. Some of the Amendments violated by this
administration are as follows:
First Amendment (the right to petition the government for a redress of grievances)
Fourth Amendment (freedom from unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be
violated, and no warrants shall be issued, but upon probable cause, supported by
oath or affirmation)
Fifth Amendment (no citizen shall be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without
due process of law)
Sixth Amendment (the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial)
Eighth Amendment (no cruel and unusual punishments inflicted)

Tenth Amendment (The powers not delegated to the United States by the
Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states
respectively, or to the people)
The next Amendment is violated when the president’s office ignores the previous five.
Using a copy of the Constitution is recommended for reference to the preceding.

The only Amendment so far reversed was the Eighteenth. (Prohibition 1919) It did not
last long. It was repealed by the Twenty-First (Repeal of Prohibition 1933)

It does not make sense to worry about any person(s) or organization(s) touting the
possibility of some future president “changing the Constitution”. This is unfounded
propaganda.
Again, Real danger to the Constitution exists when the extension of presidential
powers includes immunity from due process of the law of the land. This has proved itself
true beyond a doubt by the actions of the current administration. If you are not already
aware of the exact nature of the above listed violations of the Constitution there are
references to them that are both verifiable and on public record.
It would seem more prudent to worry about a practice that already endangers the
foundation of our freedom, than to worry about the hearsay being promoted by special
interests.
What is the shame of saying, “I am not sure” or “I need to check on this”? It
seems safer than giving credence to false information. What is the problem with being
informed? The problem with not wanting to be informed is obvious. Let’s not let our
egos cause us to continue falling victim to those who do not want us informed.
I for one do not like falling victim to unreasonable fears promoted by any special
interest group or political party.
