Mary, Queen of Scots in her billiard table cover in 1586.Many mentions in the works of Shakespeare, including the famous line "let us to billiards" in Antony and Cleopatra (160607) .Many famous enthusiasts of the sport including, Mozart, Louis XIV of France, Marie Antoinette, Immanuel Kant, Napoleon, Abraham Lincoln, Mark Twain, George Washington, French president Jules Grvy, Charles Dickens, George Armstrong Custer, Theodore Roosevelt and many others.Widely considered an elitist game in India Billiards arrived at the Indian

shores in the 1920s.

BILLIARDS & SNOOKER IN INDIA

One of the few sports to churn out a healthy number of Indian world champions. Players of the caliber of Michael Ferreira and Geet Sethi have kept the Indian tricolor flying high.The advent of double world champion Pankaj Advani and a horde of talented youngsters augurs well for the future of billiards in India. Recently, Pankaj Advani has been awarded the Padma Shree.

INTRODUCTION
Billiards & Snooker Federation of India is a central body responsible for the promotion and development of cue sports in India. In its endeavor to promote this sport across India, BSFI organizes the National Championship every year. This year the U.P. Billiards & Snooker Association has been awarded the prestigious opportunity to organize the 76th National Billiards & Snooker Championship in Agra.
