VARIABLE AIR VOLUME WITHOUT REHEAT TERMINAL UNITS FUNCTIONAL PERFORMANCE TESTS
A) OBJECTIVES 1) To verify that the terminal units supply air at the proper rates and maintain space temperature via modulation of the supply air damper. 2) Specifically this test will check that: a) The minimum and maximum air flows are programmed and controlled correctly and match the TAB report values. b) The space temperature is maintained within 2F of setpoint. c) The damper does not over or under modulate. B) EQUIPMENT TESTED 1) Variable Air Volume Terminal Units without Reheat listed below. C) BASIS OF TEST 1) Project drawings 2) Test and Balance Report 3) Sequences of Operation as shown below: D) VAV TERMINAL SEQUENCE OF OPERATION 1. NOT AVAILABLE

L) TESTING PROCEDURE

Functional Performance Test Procedures

1) The majority of the testing will be accomplished via manual test for the terminal units. Please keep that in mind and follow the requested waiting times between certain steps to allow the participants time to respond to the changes being made. 2) In addition to waiting the appropriate times, recording the time of test steps is critical in allowing the tester to locate the events in the logs. 3) This test is designed to test the terminal units one at time. 4) Identify the VAV units which will be tested. These should be readily accessible. A suggested sample size is 10% which is 35 units.
