This study is being conducted to know about cg govt. E scholarship plan under minority
welfare.To know which type of scholarship plan govt. providing to student .know about
the criteria and condition of govt. for this plan.
Every year 20000 scholarships will be distributed among the students oI minority
communities throughout the country. Based on the state-wise population oI these
communities, the distribution oI scholarship will be as under: The scheme has been
initiated keeping in view the social background oI the candidates Ior the deprived
section oI the society and to provide them opportunity to undertake advanced
studies and research.
The Researcher definitely hopes that this study will help the to understand about the
plans of the govt. which is providing to students.











.2 SCOPE OF THE STUDY
O These scholarships are available Ior studies in India only and will be
awarded through an Agency designated by the State Government/UT
Administration Ior this purpose.

O The scholarships Ior classes IX & X are available Ior schools in rural areas,
in government schools in each development block. The scholarships Irom
post-metric to post-graduate level courses on state-wise merit are available
Ior schools, colleges and Universities in the States/UTs in India.

O The scholarship will be awarded by the Government oI State/Union
Territory in which the applicant is domiciled or passed the examination
based on the result oI which he/she has been awarded the scholarship.

O The schools in rural areas will be identiIied by the State Government/UT
Administration.










OB1ECTIVES OF THE STUDY

Merit cum Means based Scholarship has been solely put Iorth to oIIer Iinancial
support to the economically weaker students Irom the Minority Communities
(Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists and Parsis).
This scheme oIIers Scholarships Ior the students to pursue Professional and
Technical courses
The scheme enables the students to solicit Ior the Scholarship through Online
Registration in the Minority WelIare Portal.
The State Government will process the applications and the Ministry approves
the scholarships.
The scholarship is oIIered to 121 technical courses which have been identiIied
by Ministry
The Main Objective is to design web based application Ior the Merit cum Means
based scholarship. The application is Iramed according to the conIigurable work
Ilow model in each State.

The scholarships at post-matric to post-graduate level available will be Iirst
allocated among the various States and Union Territories on the basis oI student
population. Within the same State and Union Territory, these will be Iurther
distributed proportionately among the various courses/examinations on the basis oI
number oI candidates who enroll/appear Ior those courses/examinations in
thepreceding years.Two scholarships are provided Ior the 9thclass per block to the
meritorioussm students studying in schools in rural areas. The break-up oI 5488
blocks in rural areas amongst various States/UTs in India is at Annexure I. Thus,
in all 10976 scholarships will be awarded to students studying in classes IX and X
in
1Government schools in rural areas. The number oI scholarships and amount
earmarked Ior providing scholarships to students in rural areas cannot be diverted
to students studying in schools situated in urban areas.
(A) The students Ior scholarships in the IX class in rural areas under the scheme
will be selected Irom block-wise merit list prepared on the basis oI marks obtained
in the VIII class examination Ior students studying in the designated Government
schools in rural areas.
(B) The scholarships Ior the post-matric to post-graduate studies are made on the
basis oI state-wise merit list prepared Irom the results oI the Iollowing
examinations: -

Diploma/ProIessional and Engineering Studies/Diploma in Hotel

(iv) Graduation For award oI scholarship Ior courses aIter graduation like
LL.B/B.Ed/Post-Graduation. The break-up oI 17000 scholarships under this
component is given in

The scholarships Ior classes IX & X will be open to students studying in
Government schools in rural areas only. However, the scholarship Irom class XI to
post-graduate level will be available throughout the State on state-wise merit basis
Ior Indian Nationals.
(ii) Only those students who obtained 60 or more marks in aggregate in the
Science and Commerce stream and 55 or more marks in aggregate inHumanities
Stream in the examinations mentioned in para 4 (B) Ior the classes/courses Ior
which scholarships have been allocated will be considered Ior award oI National
Merit Scholarship subject to IulIillment oI the other conditions stipulated.
(iii) A student shall not receive any other scholarship/stipend Ior a course oI study
Ior which he is in receipt oI National Merit Scholarship.
(iv) A student in Iull time employment will not be eligible Ior award oI a
scholarship.
(v) A scholar under the scheme while availing scholarship can enjoy Iee
concession given by the institution in which he is studying.
(vi) Candidates studying privately or in unrecognized institutions will not be
eligible Ior scholarship. However, students studying in regular correspondence
courses will be eligible subject to IulIillment oI the condition regarding
employment etc. laid down under the scheme.
(vii) Candidates who have passed qualiIying examination in a year prior to the year
oI award oI scholarship will not be eligible Ior consideration.

The examining bodies will draw up a merit list oI scholars likely to be eligible Ior
scholarship within Iive weeks aIter the results oI the examinations announced by
the Boards/Universities/Authority Ior rural students.
For rural students, the State Government will prepare block-wise merit list oI
students on the basis oI marks obtained in VIII class in rural areas. The income oI
the students` parents will be taken into account beIore preparing the list.
(ii) The Boards/Universities/Authority in the State/Union Territory will write to the
eligible students Irom the top oI the merit list equal to double the number oI
awards available (to provide Ior possible reIusal and ineligible cases) through a
registered letter to conIirm within 15 days that he/she is prepared to accept the
National Merit Scholarship. For rural students based on the block-wise merit list
prepared, the State Government will write similar letters.
(iii) The candidates Irom whom replies are not received within 15 days will not be
considered Ior scholarship and the award will be given to the next eligible
candidates in the merit list.
(iv) The Boards/Universities/ Authority in the State/Union Territory will send a list
oI selected candidates to the State Governments/Union Territory Administrations
within a maximum period oI 10 weeks Irom the date oI declaration oI result.
(v) The District authorities will send the list oI selected rural students Irom each
block in the State/UT within a maximum period oI 10 weeks Irom the date oI
declaration oI result.
(vi) The Boards/Universities/ Authority/District Administration in the State/Union
Territory will send to each candidate selected Ior award oI
scholarships:
(a) Entitlement Card
(b) Income AIIidavit Iorm
(c) Statement oI Particulars.

The major objectives of this study to know about the govt. E scholarship plan which is
providing to the student. to assess the customer satisfaction level for life insurance
products of MetLife ndia nsurance. The other objectives include assessing the
awareness of the plans and know about the plan.

Scholarship has been solely put forth to offer financial support to the economically
weaker students from the Minority. The scheme enables the students to solicit for the
Scholarship through Online Registration in the Minority Welfare Portal.

The State Government will process the applications and the Ministry approves the
scholarships. The scholarship is offered to 121 technical courses which have been
identified by Ministry .
The researcher is hopeful that this report study would give some knowledgw about
plan.This study had also given the researcher sufficient knowledge about Escholarship
plan.
