5.00 WATERPROOFING WORKS NOTE: 1.Specialized agency to be approved by Client / Consultants. THE AGENCY SHOULD GIVE GUARANTEE FOR 10 YEARS FOR THE WATERPROOFING WORKS DONE AT SITE. a) The guarantee for waterproofing should be provided by the principal company for both material and application. b) Guarantee/warrenty from applicators will not be acceptable. An undertaking in this regard from the principal company should be enclosed along with the letter for approval of waterproofing agency. c) Testing of the surfaces prior to start the work by ponding, grouting or sealing of joints, making watta at corners/ junctions etc are deemed to be included for all items while quoting rates. If any leakage is found subsequently, it has to be made water tight by the contractor free of cost. The water retaining tanks should be tested for leakages.

5.01 BASEMENT AND RETAINING WALLS, DRAINS, SUMPS, RAMPS & TRENCHES, STPS, LIFT PITS. Alt-1 Providing and laying 2mm thick, self adhesive, self protected and self healing type SBS based waterproofing membrane with 1000N puncture resistance topped with 250 gsm non woven polyester mat for high puncture resistance, and fixing the self adhesive membrane with overlaps including overlapping of the membrane at corners and change of directions with twin stick membrane, grouting at honeycomb areas, construction joints etc., complete as per the vendors methodology approved by Consultants. ( Test certificates shall be provided by the manufacturer. Approved makes (Polyplus/Fosroc/IWL/Tristar intec/Texsa or equivalent) Alternative Alt-2 Supplying, providing and applying water proofing treatment with Membrane type water proofing methods using polymer modified Bituminous membrane of approved makes of Atactic PolyPropylene (APP-4mm th) based with UV resistant, ground chemical resistant, high melting points of more than 110deg. C, flexible and elastic with high adhesive strength. The membrane shall be reinforced with non woven polyester reinforcement of minimum of 180 g/sqm and reinforced including coating with compatible primer of Bituminous base and torch application with overlap of 100 mm wherever required. The reinforcement provided shall be able to withstand the traffic flow density during & after construction and shall carry a minimum guarantee period of 10 years. Cost to include laying by loose and torching the prefabricated overlap at ends. The membrane shall be protected with 3mm thick Bituboard. Approved makes (Polyplus/Fosroc/IWL/Tristar intec/Texsa or equivalent)

5.02 TERRACES Providing waterproofing to the roof by the following method with min. 10 years guarantee.

5.02a

The first part consists of application of first layer of micro fibre reinforced acrylic polymer modified white cementitious waterproof coating in two components, after base preparation of cleaning, brushing and removal of flaky materials, grouting the porous area with cementetious grout, fixing of weep holes, Grouting of pipe outlets etc and applying in two coats @ 750 Gms/Sqm/Coat. The coatings shall be applied at intervals and as per the manufacturers specifications approved by Consultants. Cost to include the treatment along wall up to min 300 mm and no extra measurements shall be accounted for the wall treatment.

5.02 b (I) The second part consisting of water proofing the terrace by surface method of average thickness 110mm with water proof admixture as per manufacturer's specification approved by Consultants with a minimum guarantee period of 10 years. Cost to include application of cement slurry with water proofing compound over the surface, laying of brick coba to necessary gradient and joints filled with CM 1:1 with water proofing compound, providing joint less waterproof plastering with CM 1:2 and water proofing compound, finished smooth and impression marking of size 300x300 Square with 3mm rod. Treatment shall continue along parapet for 300mm height in shape of round wata, curing etc., Cost to include the treatment along parapet and no extra 'measurements shall be accounted for the same (only Plan area shall be accounted)

Alternate The protection/slope making part consists laying of 110 mm avg.thick light weight concrete of specified grade mixed with Water proofing admixture complast 421\C of Fosroc make or equivalent as per manufacturers specifications approved by consultants with a minimum guarantee period of 10 years.Cost to include cement slurry with water proofing compound applied over the surface after cleaning the surface,Laying of light weight concrete to necessary gradient and jointless water proof plastering in CM 1:2 and impression marking etc.complete.Treatment to continue along the parapet wall for 300 mm height in the shape of round wata,curing etc.Cost to include the treatment along wall up to min 300 mm and no extra measurements shall be accounted for the wall treatment.The laying of light weight concrete is by using light weight aggregates of perlite having higher compressive strength and highest fire resistance with thermal / acoustic insulation properties, anti-corrosion, anti-condensation, etc of perlite in the required proportion to get the desired density, mixing, transportation, placing, compacting and finishing to the required level with necessary side supports, equipments, etc complete ALTERNATE Membrane water proofing Supplying, providing and applying water proofing treatment with Membrane type water proofing methods using 4mm thick polymer modified Bituminous membrane of approved makes of either Styrene Butadiene Styrene (SBS) based or Atactic Poly-Propylene (APP) based with UV resistant, ground chemical resistant, high melting points, flexible and elastic with high adhesive strength. The membrane shall be reinforced with non woven polyester reinforcement of minimum of 180 g/sqm including coating with compatible primer of Bituminous base and torch application with overlap of 100 mm wherever required . The reinforcement provided shall be able to withstand the traffic flow density and after construction, shall carry a minimum guarantee period of 10 years. Cost to include laying loosely over the surface / after priming and torching the prefabricated overlap at ends. Cost to include necessary protection for waterproofing layer by granules or as approved by consultants. ( Polyplus /IWL/ Fosroc or equivalent/Tristar intec)

Note: Plan area shall be the mode of measurement. 5.04 UG SUMP, Lift pits, OHT & Swimming pools. Providing waterproofing by Surface method INTERNALLY by following methods with min. 10 years guarantee.

5.04a

The first part consists of application of first layer of micro fibre reinforced polymer modified white cementetious two part waterproof coating after base preparation of cleaning, brushing and removal of flaky materials, grouting the porous area with cementetious grout, fixing of weep holes, Grouting of pipe outlets etc and applying in two coats @ 750 Gms/M2/Coat. The coatings shall be applied at intervals and as per the manufacturers specifications. Cost to include the treatment along wall up to min 300 mm and no extra measurements shall be accounted for the wall treatment. The second part consists of waterproofing to internal surfaces by Box/surface method in layers in CM 1:4 of thickness 60mm for floor and 25mm for walls using 20 mm metal coba with waterproofing admixtures as per manufacturer's specifications and consultants approval, curing etc. complete. Treatment to continue along wall with 12mm thick plastering in CM 1:3 mixed with waterproofing admixtures. 5.05 SPECIFICATION FOR PODIUM SLAB Providing waterproofing for podium by following methods as per the specifications listed below with a minimum guarantee period of 10 years and Testing of treatment as per the requirements. Alt-1 The first part consisting of application of polyurethane water proof coating (single part highly purified polyurethane polymer with 500% elongation) which includes cleaning and brushing the concrete surface, grouting the porous area with cement grout if required, application of first coat of polyurethane coating, fixing of nylon fine mesh/ Geo-fabric with minimum overlap of 100mm at corners and joints, and application of second coat of polyurethane coating at interval as per manufacturer's specifications approved by Consultants. Cost to include necessary treatment along the vertical surfaces and inverted beams up to 100 mm high above the filling level. The second part consisting of water proofing the Podium by surface method of average thickness 80mm with water proof admixture as per manufacturer's specification approved by Consultants with a minimum guarantee period of 10 years. Cost to include application of cement slurry with water proofing compound over the surface, laying of metal coba to necessary gradient in CM1:2 with water proofing compound, joint less waterproof plastering with CM 1:2 with water proofing compound and impression marking of size 300x300 square with 3mm rod. Treatment to continue along parapet for a min. height of 300mm, making round wata, curing etc., Cost to include the treatment along parapet and no extra 'measurements shall be accounted for the same(only Plan area shall be accounted) ALTERNATE The first part consisting of application of bituminous water proof coating (two part highly purified Coal tar and polyurethane polymer) which includes cleaning and brushing the concrete surface, grouting the porous area with cement grout if required,application of first coat of bituminious coating, fixing of nylon fine mesh/ Geo-fabric with minimum overlap of 100mm and application of second coat of bituminous coating at interval as per manufacturer's specifications approved by Consultants (TAR OTHANE of choksey make / NITOPROOF100/ 120 of Fosroc make or equivalent)Cost to include necessary treatment along the parapet up to 300 mm high above the finished level ALTERNATE - do - but for application of crystaline waterproofing as per the manufacturer's specifications approved by consultants (Kryton/penetron/Percept/Fosroc make) including cleaning brushing the concrete surface, treating honeycomb areas and construction joints, water pond test etc complete
