Input (Nominal): 100 Vac to 240 Vac (Autoranging) Output (Nominal): 48 Vdc (up to 30 A) 50 VA Ringing Generator
The low-maintenance, outside-plant CPS2000 (Cabinet Power System) integrates advanced technology in a modular system with unique shelf configurations for both 19 inch and 23 inch racks.
Dual Configurations
The 19 in. and 23 in. shelf assemblies are available in the following configurations:
n n
Rectifier plant with four power module positions Ringer-rectifier plant with up to three rectifiers and two ringing generators
The CPS2000 is a high-reliability system incorporating temperature hardened-electronics. It is suited for use in remote applications at an extremely wide temperature range, 40 C to +75 C (40 F to +167 F) with fan-assisted cooling, or 40 C to +50 C (40 F to +122 F) with natural convection cooling.
The single-shelf assembly, equipped with plug-in modules, is just 5.25 in. (3U) high and 12 in. deep, and it can accommodate a variety of equipment and functions, including:
n n
7.2 A, 48 V nominal rectifier 50 VA 100 Vac/20 Hz ringing generator (halfwidth power module) Monitor and Control Unit (MCU) or Alarm and Control Unit (ACU) Low battery-voltage disconnect/reconnect (optional) Slope-compensated thermal management
Multiple Outputs
The multiple power bus architecture supports applications requiring 48 V and ringing voltage, which can eliminate the need for separate power plants.

System Safeguards Thermal management options, overcurrent/overvoltage protection, and low-voltage battery disconnect provide protection for equipment and batteries. Compatible with standard office alarms (Form-C contact closure). Safety/Standards Compliance UL-recognized* CSA certified VDE Licensed CE Marked
Model ES446 MCU provides display of primary output voltage and current, output alarms, plant battery voltage control, thermal management, and alarm LEDs.
Maximum Design Efficiency The low-profile shelf assembly is a space-saving 5.25 in. high by 12 in. deep by 17.35 in. or 21.35 in. wide. The system is available for mounting on 19 in. or 23 in. racks. Adapters are available for ETSI mounting (500 mm). Power modules, ringing generators, monitor and control unit, manual battery disconnect switches, lowvoltage battery disconnect, and thermal management are all housed in one compact shelf. All equipment is frontaccessible, ideally suited for use in cabinets and other space-restrictive environments. The system is compatible with a wide range of input voltages. Cost Efficiency Unique, lightweight components and front-access system architecture reduce installation and maintenance expenses. Near-unity power factor correction can result in lower utility costs. Enhanced Reliability The CPS2000 has been designed by Lucent Technologies Bell Labs using the latest technology, strictly controlled manufacturing processes, and the highest quality standards to ensure excellent performance, superior reliability, and an extended service life. Continuous Operation Plug-in modules can be easily added or replaced without any interruption of service.
Economical alternative to MCU provides plant alarm and control functions; Model ES447 ACU provides test points for reading and adjusting plant voltage.
Output Distribution
n
Includes primary and secondary output distribution built into the shelf. The 23 in. shelf output distribution section houses the low battery-voltage disconnect/ reconnect contactor, connection for thermal probes, battery connection points, and optional battery disconnect switches. Fourteen GMT-type fuse outputs are available on the primary bus. Nine of the outputs are connectorized and rated for up to 10 A each and the other five terminal block outputs are rated for up to 15 A each. The 19 in. shelf output distribution section provides either a bulk output or seven connectorized, GMT fused outputs on the primary bus and connectorized output on the secondary bus.
High power density Mountable in 19 in. or 23 in. rack, optional ETSI brackets (500 mm) available Totally front accessible Temperature-hardened electronics Battery thermal management Input voltage autoranging Built-in fuse distribution Hot-insertion modular design Overvoltage/overcurrent protection Low battery-voltage disconnect option
