As we come upon the Silver Anniversary (25th) Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. observance presented by the City of Sanford and the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Steering Committee, Inc. (MLK, Jr. Steering Committee), it is important to provide the most enjoyable family-oriented day of food, fun, and games for we must always REMEMBER! CELEBRATE! ACT! On Monday, January 16, 2012, the Rally in the Park will take place in downtown Sanford at picturesque Fort Mellon Park, immediately following the parade, which will be hosted in the Goldsboro community on West 13th Street. As we continue to strive to bring our diverse community together for this exciting cultural experience, we welcome and thank you for your support as a vendor. Attached are the vendor opportunity guidelines and application. Please read thoroughly the vendor guidelines before completing the application, as there are changes. VENDOR GUIDELINES 2012 MLK Rally-in-the-Park

LOCATION: Fort Mellon Park, East First Street, Downtown Sanford TIME: Immediately after parade

It is our goal to provide the community with the best merchandise, service and business experience during this celebration. In order to accomplish this, we have established the following vendor guidelines:

NOTES: VENDOR SPACE FEE - $100.00 PER SPACE. MLK, JR. STEERING COMMITTEE RETAIN THE EXCLUSIVE RIGHT TO SELL WATER. 1. DATE: Monday, January 16, 2012. Set-up time is 7 AM to 10 AM. (Please make sure that your vehicle is out of the park by 10 AM). All tables, tents, chairs, and special equipment will be the responsibility of the vendor. This event is scheduled for the date and time listed above, the VENDOR(S) agree that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Steering Committee, Inc. will not be responsible for any loss caused by fire, flood, theft, rain, cold, fog, or any other elements of nature or man. LIABILITY INSURANCE: Vendors must supply a certificate of insurance naming the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Steering Committee, Inc. (MLK Steering Committee) and the City of Sanford as additionally insured on their $1 million general liability and product liability, if applicable; insurance policies should show as Certificate Holders: 1) City of Sanford and 2) MLK Steering Committee. WORKERS COMPENSATION INSURANCE: In accordance with Florida State Statutes, will be required and afford protection to, any City of Sanford off duty employees hired by the event holder/sponsor to work the event. FEES: Vendor fees are as stated on the application and are due at the time of application submission. Vendors are required to wear their identification tags and/or display their permits at all times. (ID Tags and/or City Permits will be given out during the set-up time). City ordinance prohibits alcohol beverages or illegal drugs in the park. The City of Sanford Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Steering Committee, Inc. reserves the right to limit the number of any items to be sold.

Vendor spaces are 10 x 15in size. If your set-up requires more than one space, additional spaces must be purchased at the vendor space fee of $100.00 per space. Fire Extinguishers: Each vendor cooking with grease or using frying vats and griddles are required to have a K-rated fire extinguisher. Each Vendor cooking with wood or charcoal must have a 3A10BC fire extinguisher. Food vendors using grease must have grease traps and are not allowed on the grassy areas of the park. Glass containers are not allowed (i.e., beverages must be in an aluminum can or a plastic bottle). You must complete and return the Application and Hold Harmless agreement printed on the back or attached as an additional page to the application.
