SUNDAY, OCT 9 3 PM FORTHE BIBLETELLS ME SO

(2007, U.S., 97 minutes, Director: Daniel Karslake)

Can the love between two people ever be an abomination? Is the chasm separating gays and lesbians and Christianity too wide to cross? Is the Bible an excuse to hate? Through the experiences of five very normal, very Christian, very American families including those of former House Majority Leader Richard Gephardt and Episcopal Bishop Gene Robinson we discover how insightful people of faith handle the realization of having a gay child. Informed by such respected voices as Bishop Desmond Tutu, Harvard's Peter Gomes, Orthodox Rabbi Steve Greenberg and Reverend Jimmy Creech, For The Bible Tells Me So offers healing, clarity and understanding to anyone caught in the crosshairs of scripture and sexual identity.

SUNDAY, NOV 13 3 PM FISH OUT OF WATER

(2009, U.S., 60 minutes, Director: Ky Dickens)

Using animation and academic interviews to dissect the seven Bible verses, in both the Hebrew and Christian Bibles, used to condemn homosexuality and justify marriage discrimination, this documentary takes the subject, but not itself, too seriously. It explodes the conventional arguments of hate and exposes how the Hebrew and Christian Bibles are often misinterpreted and misquoted regarding same-sex relationships.

SUNDAY, DEC 11 3 PM TREMBLING BEFORE GD

(2001, U.S., 84 minutes, Director: Sandi Simcha Dubowski)

Built around intimately told personal stories of Hasidic and Orthodox Jews who are gay or lesbian, the film portrays a profound dilemma. How to reconcile their passionate love of Judaism with the drastic biblical prohibitions that forbid homosexuality.
