Pakistan Steel Mills Corporation (Pvt.) Ltd. manufactures industrial materials such as steel, coke, pig iron, rolled billets, hot and cold rolled coils and sheets, and galvanized coils and sheets. The company also sells by-products created during steel production, including coal tar, granulated and boulder slag, Ammonium Sulphate, Oxygen, Nitrogen, and refractory bricks. The government of Pakistan is has no plans to privatize Pakistan Steel Mills Corporation (Pvt.) Ltd. in spite of the government of Pakistan is working on increasing its production capacity, Pakistans Federal Minister for Production Anwer Ali Cheema said. The ministry is stepping up positive measures to take out Pakistan Steel from difficulties.

The government of Pakistan is planning to privatize Pakistan Steel Mills Corporation (Pvt.) Ltd. instead of dragging on with the loss making entity, Pakistans Federal Minister for Production, Anwar Ali Cheema said. Cheema added, There are too many issues with the PSM and the government cannot rectify them despite all sincere and serious efforts.

Pakistan Steel Mills Corporation (Pvt.) Ltd. announced that Wasif Mahmood has taken over as the company's Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Mahmood relieved Imtiaz Ahmed Khan Lodhi on January 28, 2011. The new CEO is the senior most engineer of Pakistan Steel. He has been serving the company for around 32 years on different important positions including Corporate Secretary, Director Balancing, Modernisation, Repair and Expansion (BMRE), Head of different plants-- Technical Staff Officer to the Chairman Published by HT Syndication with permission from Right Vision News.
