ASSIGNMENT QUESTION / SOALAN TUGASAN QUESTION / SOALAN Descriptive statistics involves arranging, summarizing, and presenting data in such a way that information drawn from the data can be extracted and interpreted clearly. Descriptive statistics may be presented using graphical techniques or by way of numerical measures. In this assignment, you are required to complete two tasks. Task 1 Using appropriate examples and illustrations, show clearly how you would explain to your students the use of graphical techniques and numerical descriptive measures (i.e., measures of location and dispersion) to summarise and present data. (15 marks) Task 2 You are asked to report the results of a mid-term mathematics examination taken by your students from two of the form four classes. List all the examination scores that you have collected. Use appropriate graphical methods to present the exam scores. Give comments to the plots that you have constructed. Based on the relevant measures of location and dispersion, interpret, compare and make conclusion on mathematics performance by the two classes. Task 2 should include, 1. At least one graphical plot for each set of the data. 2. At least one measure of location and dispersion for each set of the data. 3. The steps to construct the plots and to calculate the measures.
