Vermont Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90027 DRIVING DIRECTIONS: From Golden St Frwy (5) exit Los Feliz Blvd head West on Los Feliz, turn Right (North) at Vermont Ave continue to Vermont Canyon. Follow signs to race parking. You cant miss it. From the Santa Monica Frwy (10) Vermont Ave exit, head North on Vermont, which leads into Griffith Park. From the Hollywood Frwy (101) Northbound to the Vermont Ave exit, North on Vermont, follow it to the park. From the Hollywood Frwy (101) Southbound to the Vine Street exit. Go straight under the underpass, you will be going East on Franklin. Turn left on Western and follow it around as it becomes Los Feliz. Turn left on Vermont and follow it to the park. ABOUT THE COURSE: This event will be held in the largest and most popular park in the City of Los Angeles - Griffith Park has many amazing features and this UCI level demanding course would be a great spectacle with its visibility in the heart of Vermont Canyon sitting next to the historic Greek Theatre and just below the Griffith Park Observatory. Course features include: a slightly uphill paved straightaway start/finish and is comprised of 75% grass, 10 % pavement, and 15% dirt. This 2.5 km course begins with a 150 meter pavement section then turns to dirt and turns left into the grass meandering through the park. It includes one double barrier section, sand pit and one stairs section. There will be a double pit (2-way) location in the center of the course, splitting the midway points in each direction of the course. It will include a bike wash station for races in progress. An auxiliary wash will be located in the bike pit as needed and near the south end of parking lot. First Aid-Medical will be located adjacent to the start grid. COURSE IS OPEN FOR RIDER INSPECTION 8:30am on race day. REGISTRATION: Online registration available. Series discount pass available. Go to www.socalcross.org/register for details. Online registration closes Thursday December 16th (PDT). Race Day registration opens 2 hours prior to race category start and closes 20 minutes prior to race category start.

RULES: Event held under American Bicycle Racing Permit. All 2011 ABR rules apply. Event will be held rain or shine, no refunds. Cyclocross and mountain bikes (no bar ends) best. Bicycle and wheel changes are allowed in the designated pit areas only. No feeds are allowed on course except under discretion of the race officials. Riders must wear helmets when on the bike at all times. Riders shall stay on the course or existing trails. Warming up on the Course Once the last rider has crossed the line in the current active wave, the officials will allow riders to pre-ride the course so they can become familiar with route. Please enter the course just past the finish line and do not pass or enter in front of riders who are still racing on the course. As in the past, while pre-riding do not cross the finish line while the timing system is running and do not pass active racers on course. There will always be enough time to complete one lap before the next race starts. Once the next race has started, warming up on the course is not allowed. CATEGORIES: Senior (over 18 years of age in 2012) and Masters categories may be listed by ability as well as age. Ability categories are as follows. The Prestige Series discourages sandbagging. USA Cycling does not recognize American Bicycle Racing events for cyclocross category upgrades or national ranking points. A B C USAC Road/CX Cat 1 and 2, MTB Cat 1/Expert and anyone else who chooses to race at this level. USAC Road/CX Cat 3 and 4, MTB Cat 2/Sport and anyone who chooses to race at this level. USAC Road 4 and 5, CX 4, MTB Cat 3/Beginner. New racers or those trying cyclocross for the first time.

CYCLOCROSS RACING AGE: A riders racing age for the 2011-12 Cyclocross Season is the 'racing age' theyll be the year of the CX World Championships which take place in January 28-29, 2012. Your racing age for the entire cyclocross season running September 2011 through January 2012 is your age as of 12/31/2012. RESULTS: Race results will be posted near the awards area immediately following each race. Please make sure to check your results within the 15-minute posting/protest period or they will be final.
