About Dr. P. Sadananda Maiya Centre for Food Science and Research Dr. P. Sadananda Maiya Centre for Food Science and Research was established by Dr. P. Sadananda Maiya, Director of Maiya's Beverages & Foods Pvt. Ltd. The Research Centre is actively engaged in carrying out cutting edge research in frontier areas of food science. The Centre is aiming to promote the science of Food, ensuring public health and well-being and continuous improvement of the quality of foods. The Centre also aims to undertake fundamental and applied research on sensory perceptions and preferences, and use this knowledge in quality enhancement of traditional foods. It also has doctoral research studies program in Food Science, Food Processing, Food Chemistry and other allied subjects. About the Conference Healthy and high quality foods will improve the quality of life in general, but they need appropriate Science & Technology to produce. Food Science & Nutrition research by various groups across India has been achieving great strides with huge number of applications. The national conference intends to bring together such R&D Institutions, academia and industrial researchers to provide update on research and issues in the areas of food science and nutrition for improving the quality of life. The conference will provide opportunities for food scientists, food technologists, nutritionists, dietitians, food industry and food service establishments to present and exchange ideas and experiences as well as strengthen their network. Topics for discussion Functional Foods, Nutraceuticals, Bioactives, and Antioxidants from food sources. Traditional foods vs. foods of the future - GM Foods, Nano Foods. Micronutrients, Fortification and their Bioavailability, Molecular and Clinical nutrition. Chemical aspects of foods, Analytical & Bioanalytical methods of food analysis, Technological aspects of Food processing and New Product Development, Grain Science, Dairy Science & technology, and Food Packaging. Food security, Food safety & Regulatory aspects.

Call for papers Interested Academicians, Scientists, industry personnel, research scholars and students are invited to submit abstracts for oral/poster presentations on any of the themes mentioned. The abstract of the paper in not more than 300 words shall reach the Organizing Secretary on or before 30th November 2011 by e-mail to: rtfsnr2011@gmail.com The abstract should include the title, affiliations, E-mail ID & telephone number. Authors of abstracts selected for Oral/Poster presentations will be intimated by 1 st December. They shall send the Demand Draft th on or before 8 December 2011.
