The voting of the State Senate and the Polls on how the citizens of New York see Same Sex Marriage. 6.) That the Current Governer is talking the talk when it comes to pushing for the extension of Same Sex Marriage, but has yet to do anything about it. 7.) The Author comes to the Conclusion that the current governer is not doing enough to permit same sex marriage and should be doing more about it. 8.) The Implications of not taking this article seriously are the ignorance of the struggles gays and lesbians have to go through in order to be happy.

In my opinion, the Same Sex Marriage debate is little more than an argument between super religious folk and those with the desire to be happy. The real underlying reason behind this is religious influence. In the christian bible, there is mention of a town called Sodom that was full of what the jewish community would have called "undesirables". In this town, people indulged in their desires and urges, even if it meant being gay or lesbian. They were happy in one way or another and yet they were condemned for it. I, personally, do not care if someone is gay or lesbian. I'm not gay myself, but if being gay is what makes someone happy, then more power to them. I am not religious, and I would guess that a trait like that certainly broadens my view of sanity and logic. Since I do not believe in any god or holy text of any sort, nothing but my own reasoning as to how I would like to be treated determines the guidlines of my own judgment. I say let the gays and lesbians get married. Who are the people who oppose this to say that someone can't be happy in whatever way they please? That sort of behavior only breeds anger and hatred. That leads to problems within our own society. We should all learn to love each other and not find reasons to hate someone else and tell them how they are wrong. The world is a disgusting place full of hatred and anger, but we must inject love into our society with tolerance to a certain degree. Light up the Darkness and leave hate behind. If some guy is happy with loving another guy and if some girl wants to marry another girl, then why stop them? Love is blind, and questionable at that. Being gay is genetic and has been proven that way already, and is not a decision for some people

just the same way as being black or being mentally retarded.
