Important DME settings (some are locked for Ericssons users)

Your synchronization setup
You are either set up to have e-mails pushed immediately to your phone or at scheduled intervals. Check how this is set up for you. You are not able to change it if the DME Administrator has locked the setting:

Open the SMS Highlight the link, and open it in a browser Select Yes to connect to server and Continue to install Select OK to accept license agreement Select Yes to save server path (if applicable) On some phones you must select an access point (ask DME Administrator if in doubt)

E-mail E-mail pull

If E-mail pull is disabled: E-mails are pushed to you immediately. If E-mail pull is enabled: E-mails are sent to your phone every X minutes as indicated in Pull interval (min). The Start time and End time is the period during which DME will pull for e-mails.

Your DME Administrator may choose to provide DME differently. When this is done, you are ready to use DME.

Log-in frequency
You will have to log in again when you havent used DME e-mail for a while. See how this is set up for your user profile:

When you travel to other countries

Most devices. DME follows the time zone set on your device. When synchronizing with the server, the device reports its time zone at the same time. The server then always knows how to deal with calendar entries etc. Some Java devices. When you travel east/west, you must set the time zone in DME to that of the phone. If not, you can end up with duplicate calendar entries. Your phone may automatically change the time zone or prompt you for changing it upon arrival to a new zone. To change time zone in DME: General Time zone Select zone Switching SIM cards. For security reasons, your phone may flush all data when you replace the SIM card. Check your set-up: Security Action on SIM card change E-mail push versus manual pull. If you travel far away and for longer periods, you should consider disabling e-mail push as it can be expensive in SMS and data traffic. Contact your DME Admin to change your phone to manual sync. Your DME Administrator may have set up DME so the synchronization routines automatically change to a less costly method and therefore behaves differently when you travel.

Access contacts created in Notes/Outlook

Update your address book in Notes/Outlook Wait for DME to synchronize contacts to the phone, or Synchronize Contacts
Note that the DME Administrator controls which contact fields from the Global Address Book are synchronized to the phones Contacts application.
