Development of Core Competencies The IFIM GET AHEAD ADVANTAGE is about helping a student to derive maximum advantage of his/her time at IFIM, in order to extend their experiences, develop skills, and explore new interests. Inspiring them in their personal, social and professional environments is the ideology behind this programme. In doing so, we renew their respect for themselves and for each other, and give them a new take on their values, beliefs and perception. Skills, such as communication, problem solving and teamwork, are considered critical to success in industry, yet they are often underemphasized in programmes. This is an assessment of the gap between the knowledge, skills and attitudes that the people in the institution currently possess and the knowledge, skills and attitudes that they require to meet the organizations objectives. Possession of proper attitudes is one of the most important attributes of a competent person. Without proper attitudes, the performance of a person gets adversely affected.
