Purpose:

Tested Software Levels :

These levels were used for Testing - HTML Toolkit 2.2.0.4 - MCD 10.2.0.26_2 ( note this version requires a HTML infrastructure license)

Procedure:
Load the HTML toolkit software On windows 7 the software can be accessed from Start All Programs Mitel

o o o

HTML App Packager Used to create a package that can be uploaded to the MCD HTML App Uploader Used to upload the package created above Developer Resources Sample applications used to create new ones Under Windows 7 ,these are loaded to this folder by default ( may be hidden) C:\Users\Public\Mitel\HTMLToolKit

5360 Info and Softkey Branding:

384 x 223 pixels

Information and Soft Key Branding Applications occupy the space normally used by the information display and the soft key labels The application appears when the phone is idle, and disappears when the phone is in use. The size this space is 384 x 223 pixels. Information and Soft Key Branding applications are very simple. These applications consist of a displayed image. Supported image formats are GIF, JPG, TIF, BMP or PNG files. The image is not resized. The application only shows the first 384 x 223 pixels of the supplied image. The image file must be included as part of the application SPX file. No HTML files are allowed in this application type. This sample application features an animated GIF file of a street crossing sign.

Create Backup and Modify sample files

To preserve the original Files, I normally make a copy of the folders and make modifications to the copied versions. Shown below is the Branding - Information & Soft Key Folder containing the original folders and the copied version

The 5360 Folder contains these files

Cross.gif This is an animated file Manifest.xml file is the file that allows the package to be generated Info and SK Branding.pdf Simple instruction manual explaining how to modify the Files

This is the contents of the sample Manifest.xml file

To Create Branding that contains a different Gif File ( or image file) - Create the Gif ( or image) , and adjust the xml file to match the name of the Gif( or image) - Remove the old version from the folder Example - I have created a simple gif file ( called tie.gif) and saved it into the folder , removed cross.gif and edited the manifest.xml file ( changed cross.gif to tie.gif) [NOTE: the manifest must be changed to read/write and the filenames are CASE sensitive] - To remove read only ( and allow editing)

This is the modified manifest file NOTE Also change the Name from the default to something more appropriate

Package the application Using the Toolkit Packager

If successful an spx.package and an InfoSoftKeybranding.spx file should have been created

Upload the file using the HTML Toolkit Uploader

Note this step may not be needed if the MCD settings already exist
