Tournament General Information

ANY PROTEST MUST BE MADE DURING GAME INCLUDING PITCHING VIOLATION. ANY TEAM THAT VIOLATES PITCHING RULES WILL BE DISQUALIFIED. Protest Fee: $100.00 cash (in rule interpretation only). All protest have to be done before the next pitch.

Age Requirement: May 1st will be the designated date to determine ages. Players exceeding the age of the Division before May 1st, will not be eligible to participate in that Division. Players can play in a higher age Division. Players can not play on 2 teams of the same age group in the same tournament. 1. The Sporting News Rules of Baseball will be used for the following rules. These rules can be found at http://MLB.MLB.com/MLB/downloads/y2011/Official_Baseball_Rules.pdf 2. Balks rule 8.05 PRO 3. Obstruction rule 7.06 PRO 4. Game Time: Starting time is forfeit time, unless delay is created by tournament director. Home Team: Will be determined by coin flip in pool play and higher seed will be home team in Bracket play. 5. Time Limit 12U and under: All games have a 1 hour 45 minutes time limit in pool play thru semi-final games. If home team is ahead, bottom half of inning will not be played if time has expired. Championship games have no time limit. 6. Time Limit 13U and above: All games have a 2 hour time limit in pool play thru semi-final games. If home team is ahead, bottom half of inning will not be played if time has expired. 7. Championship games have no time limit. 8. Run Rules: 9u, 10u, 11u &12u 6 inning games; 8 runs after 4 innings; 15 runs after 3 innings. 9. Run Rule: 13u and above: 8 Runs after 5 innings; 10 Runs after 4 innings; 15 runs after 3 innings in all tournament games. 10. Metal Spikes: Not allowed in 12-under 11. EH Rule: Extra Hitter - Bat ten players, the EH can go into the field for any of the other nine players in the game and that player will then become the EH. The batting order does not change. Batting the Roster: Also you may bat the roster and have free subs in the field, but if you lose a player. It will be an out for that place in the batting order, for the rest of the game. The batting order does not change. 12. EJECTION: Players and Coaches will sit out the remainder of that game. The ejection of an assistant coach does not cause the ejection of the head coach. 13. Pitching Rules: For six-inning 12U and younger, a pitcher cannot pitch more than 27 outs in a three day tournament. No more than 18 outs in one day. If a play results in multiple outs causing the pitcher to exceed their allotted number of outs there is no penalty. For seveninning 15U and younger, a pitcher cannot pitch more than 33 outs in a three day tournament. If a play results in multiple outs causing the pitcher to exceed their allotted number of outs there is no penalty. 16-18U High School Divisions, there are no pitching rules.

14. High School Bat weight/length differential rule is waived in the 14 and under ages. 15. Courtesy runner for both the pitcher and the catcher may be used at any time. Courtesy runner has to be someone not presently in the line-up. The same player cannot run for the pitcher and catcher in the same inning. Batting the roster, last recorded out is the courtesy runner. 16. Playing rules not specifically covered shall follow the National Federation of State High School Associations. 17. Re-Entry Rule: High School Rule - Starters can re-enter one time

Pool Play to Tournament Brackets All bracket play games until the championship will be played with the Eastern Coastal Sports Tie Breaker going into affect at the end of the regulation time or innings. The batter due up last in that inning will start on second base and the inning will start with no outs. In the second and all following innings the batter do up last will be on second, plus the batter preceding him in the order will be on third and the inning will start with no outs. Seeding for Championship Brackets 1. WON-LOSS RECORD 2. HEAD TO HEAD - IF THERE IS NOT A THREE-WAY TIE OR MORE TEAMS WITH THE SAME RECORD. 3. FEWEST RUNS ALLOWED IN POOL PLAY. 4. Highest RUN DIFFERENTIAL. COIN FLIP for Championship Game 3rd Place will be decided by Highest Run Differential in Semifinal Game.
