Do you know what make the difference between Gulp! Carp baits and competitor carp baits? The formula and manufacturing do. Not only Gulp Carp bait are made in our own factory in Europe, but the formula is elaborated by scientists and carp specialists who work in the Gulp Carp LAB standing next to the factory.

Located in the Netherlands, the Berkley Product Innovation Center provides a great opportunity to study baits, and more particularly carp baits. The several Gulp! Carp products are engineered and manufactured in the Berkley PI lab : Boilies and Pop ups Pellets Seeds

Testing Process
The main target of Gulp! Carp baits is obviously superior catch rate, and this had to be tested on the field! For this reason we built a network of more than 60 recognised Carp anglers within Europe : the UK, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Eastern Europe and Italy. The testing team gave feedback to the research team, until we got the perfect formula and flavour. Gulp! Carp products have been tested and evaluated during the past 24 months., Each boilie flavour has been evaluated in different weather conditions, time of the year, and several environments, such as lakes & rivers. The superior Gulp! Carp bait ingredients provide better results versus the competitor baits tested during the approval and research period. We can say that the average catch rate results in the tests was 30% higher in comparison to competitor baits. The Gulp! Carp laboratory is the start of a long story, that goes in the spirit of Berkley: give to angler the good products to Catch more Fish!

The main advantage of this new laboratory and production facility is to control every single step of studies and provide the angler with scientifically proven baits.

Our boilies are one of the best baits around, we did severe test all over Europe in the past 2 years to get to the point where we are now, to create one of the best ready made baits available without compromise on quality of ingredients or soluble attractors. We run the production within Europe and have our own chemist who is in charge of all operations, we even make our own flavours unlike many others (see the LAB page). We have invested heavily into research and development to ensure that our baits are the finest you can buy. Fresh Fruit One

The Base Mix is unique to Berkley containing nutrition far in excess of what a fish can get from natural food sources, thats why the Berkley Gulp Carp Bait is so good. This dark red boilie is one of the range containing that famous seed blend. We have had some incredible feedback from anglers who have praised it for its long catching life and for its amazing versatility because it works well all year. Our complete pellet range is made using the highest production standards in Europe for animal nutrition. We dont sell any pressed pellets in our range but only the very best extruded pellets. In the extrusion process, raw materials are first ground to the correct particle size (usually the consistency of coarse flour). The dry mix is passed through a pre-conditioner, where other ingredients are added, steam is also injected to start the cooking process. The preconditioned mix is then passed through an extruder, and then forced through a die where it is cut to the desired length. The cooking process takes place within the extruder where the product produces its own friction and heat due to the pressure generated (1020bar). Use of the extrusion cooking process gives the following food benefits: Starch gelatinization Protein denaturation Inactivation of raw food enzymes Destruction of naturally occurring toxins Diminishing of microorganisms in the final product Berkley Gulp pellets are a range of feed pellets all designed to attract fish into the swim.The ingredients used are selected to create highly attractive and palatable pellets. The flavours used will create a powerful flavour trail that leads the fish to the fishing area and triggers them to feed. All our products are nutritious and tasty to fish and they contain all the necessary vitamins while no harmful preservatives are used. All the ingredients used are natural and biologically degradable.

We have sourced the largest and highest grade hemp available. CHILLI HEMP This hempseed has been perfectly cooked and contain a lot of oil. SEAWEED & KELP Our Gulp Seaweed & Kelp liquid attractant is made of the best kelp from Norway, rich in vitamins and minerals this kelp used has an incredible pulling power towards carp, by adding seaweed it gives an extra edge to this liquid attractant. One of the best liquid attractants by far according to a lot of our pro staff anglers. AMINO MIX This Gulp Amino Mix is a nutritional medicine intended for human use and formulated to assist digestion and nutrition in those patients suffering from eating disorders and poor digestion of their food. It is a strong smelling red liquid which contains extracts of fresh liver, spleen, amino acids and vitamins and minerals. Being pre-digested it is also very easily assimilated by the carp and, as such, forms a vital part of any long term food bait. Use between 15 and 25ml per 16oz/500g base mix. Or use it on your hookbaits, free offerings or pellets for that extra edge. LIVER & FISH It has a very strong slightly sweet taste and a totally individual smell that just screams food at the carp. Like Gulp Amino Mix, it too is amino acid-based with added extracts of liver. It also contains fish extract. Very powerful liquid attractor. Use between 15 and 25ml per 16oz/500g base mix. Or use it on your hookbaits, free offerings or pellets for that extra edge. LIQUID BETAINE Betaine is a naturally occurring substance that is present in minute quantities in plants, yeasts, fungi and in the flesh of fish and crustaceans. Its potential as a natural attractor has long been recognized in the world of fish nutrition. Our Gulp Liquid Betaine can be used in a base mix (use between 15 and 25ml per 16oz/500g) or just to dips, glug or soak boilies, hookbaits, pellets. GLM EXTRACT Talking about a real carp magnet, this is really one, the famous Green Lipped Mussel Extract. Rich in naturally occurring Betaine, it boasts a superb shellfish smell and one of the most distinctive tastes imaginable. Our Gulp Liquid GLM Extract can be used as an additive to a base mix but try it as a hookbait boost, you will be amazed. CORN STEEP LIQUOR Our Gulp Corn Steep Liquor is one of the highest quality available and is always consistent made from top quality maize grain to produce a liquid food with a well defined amino acid composition and a high level of reducing sugars. This results in a strong smelling liquid that is one of the top carp attractors ever discovered. Berkley Gulp Hemp Oil is made from the finest quality of the cold pressed hempseed so no essential acids are destroyed.Our Gulp Hemp Oil is full of amino acids, omega 3, 6 and 9 and vitamin E. Gulp Hemp Oil can be used as a pellet Glug and will add attraction and nutritional values to loose feeds and groundbaits, especially method style mixes. This oil is PVA friendly.
