Each year, Kalay houses more than 500 freshmen Iskolar ng Bayan coming from different provinces all over the Philippines. Established in 1975, it boasts a very large number of dormitory alumni which still support a lot of its activities. Kalay functions not only as the residents shelter, but also, and more importantly, as a place where they are given the opportunity to interact with other fellow Iskos and Iskas and the chance to enhance various aspects of their cognitive and psychosocial growth and development. Its primary objective is to organize fun and worthwhile activities that are designed to complement the academic curriculum and to help the residents adjust to college life.

what we are proposing

In its continuous effort to provide activities for all of the residents growth as Isko and Iska, and in pursuit of social awareness and nationalistic involvement, Kalay will be celebrating the Pasalubong Festival (PasaFest) on January ___, 2011. The PasaFest is the biggest and the most awaited annual dormitory event attended by a lot of university students and staff. It is where Kalay residents are able to showcase the rich culture and traditions of the people in each Philippine region, from the Ilocos region to ARMM. To exhibit each regions unique identity and also, the concept of pasalubong or a homecoming gift, groups will set-up colorful and elaborate booths catering food, delicacies, and other known products made in their regions. Also, they will have presentations to further present to the guests what more their region can offer. In line with this, we are inviting you to take part in this event as Project Sponsor, be it through the provision of cash or products. We are appealing to your generosity and are deeply grateful for all the help that you can extend to us. Your support will truly help Kalay in supporting each and every resident.
