Jehovahs Witnesses

Student: Cebotari Ion Teacher: Clendaniel Richard

I am a Jehovah's Witness. I knew them, and went to meetings, from when was small, because my mother became a Witness. But barely a year and a half, I understand that this is the truth. It happened because I started to study the Bible more seriously. Until then I read the publications of the witnesses, but without much effect. Starting to study with other witnesses, I understood a lot of things, and look at the world from another point of view. Studing the Bible, I began, indeed, to believe what is written there, and want to fulfill God's will. I'm not the best example in this regard, but I try to do as much as possible. For example, already 3 months are a unbaptized publisher, and preach the Good News to other people. It's pretty complicate, requiring extra time and effort, but these do not compare with the satisfaction brought by these moments. Although I have not yet baptized, I identify me as a Jehovah's Witness, because I want to fulfill God's will, written in the bible, and next to be baptized. For me and all Jehovah's Witnesses it is particularly important to base religious beliefs on the Bible, not human theories or religious beliefs. We base our beliefs on the principle writed by Paul in Acts 17:11 : "received the word with the greatest enthusiasm, carefully examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so "(Acts 17:11). I think that all religious teachings should be subject to such test to allow readers to see if what they read is, or is not, in harmony with the inspired Scriptures. From the above it is clear that Jehovah's Witnesses believe that the Bible is the Word of God. We believe that the 66 books that compose it are divinely inspired and historically accurate. We understand the Bible literally, unless the context passages or phrases used figuratively or symbolically indicates. Also, Jehovah's Witnesses understand that many prophecies have been fulfilled already, while others are being or are about to come true fulfillment. Jehovah's Witnesses. This name indicating that we bear witness to Jehovah's divinity and its goals. Nouns "God", "Lord" and "Creator" - as the words "President", "king" and "general" are titles that can be attributable to many people. Instead, the name "Jehovah" is a proper noun referring to Almighty God, Creator of the universe. This idea is supported by Psalm 83:18, which says: "And know that thou, whose name is Jehovah, you alone are the Most High over all the earth" (Santa Scriptures of the Old and New Testament, Iasi, 1874).

The name "Jehovah" ("Jehovah" according to the Bible edited by Orthodox Patriarchate, or "Yahweh", as some biblical scholars) appears almost 7,000 times in the original Hebrew Scriptures. Most Bibles do not use this name, replacing it with "God" or "Lord." But even in these versions, which contained verses in the Hebrew name Jehovah can be found easily because instead of the name "Jehovah" we find here the words "GOD" or "LORD", written in capital letters. There are also modern translations using the name Jehovah and Yahweh. Here, for example, the New World Translation translate verse from Isaiah 42:8: "I am Jehovah. This is my name". And scientist agree whith this in some books movies or internet articles. For example: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jehovah

Biblical passage on which Jehovahs Witnesses adopted their name is found in Chapter 43 of Isaiah. In this chapter, the world scene is compared with a huge court where the gods of the nations are invited to bring witnesses to support their alleged right or to listen witnesses for Jehovah's side and recognize the truth. In this context, Jehovah tells his people: "Ye are my witnesses, saith Jehovah, and my servant that I have chosen, to know and believe in me, and understand that I am the same, before Me was not a God, or will be after me. I, I am Jehovah, and besides me there is no savior. " (Isaiah 43:10, 11, Santa Scriptures of the Old and New Testament, Bucharest, 1915). Jesus said before Pontius Pilate: "For this I was born and for this I came into the world: to bear witness to the truth". He is called a "faithful and true witness" (John 18:37, Revelation 3:14). Jesus told his disciples: " You will receive power when the Holy Spirit arrives upon you, and you will be witnesses of me both in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and to the most distant part of the earth.." (Acts 1:8). I and all Jehovah's Witnesses are guided by this advice, but also by verset from Matthew 28:19,20: ''Go therefore and make disciples of people of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I ordered'' I know, this may sound ridiculous, or at least, strange, to some people. But for me, this is real facts, which can form a truth that is able to change lives. Analyzing the Bible, my conscience can be taught in such a way to please God. As Jehovah's Witness, I have a unique opportunity to be friends with God. God that always fulfills his promises that, and cant lie.
