Fundamentals of Transmission lines, Characteristic Impedance, Losses in Transmission lines, Standing waves, Quarter and Half wave length lines, Reactance property of Transmission lines, Smith chart and its application. Transmission line components (Stub, directional coupler, Baluns, slotted lines). VI Telephony: Baasic components of telephone network, components of subscriber 07 09
telephone instruments, principles of push button dialer, DTMF dialer & automatic switching, electronic exchange.
Outcomes:
1. Studied various types of microphones & loudspeakers 2. Also plotted graph indicating frequency response of Loudspeaker. 3. Understood the need of modulation for noiseless transmission of information. 4. Studied Amplitude Modulation and Demodulation theoretically and practically. 5. Studied the power saving technique in Amplitude Modulation and generation method of SSB. 6. Studied the Frequency modulation and effect of noise on Frequency Modulation. 7. Studied properties of Tuned Radio Frequency Receiver and Super-heterodyne Receiver. 8. Studied the transmission line and basics properties of Antenna such as : Gain, bandwidth, Polarization, Radiation Pattern etc. 9. Studied the operation of Telephone. 10. Evaluated fundamental communication system parameters, such as bandwidth, power, signal to quantization noise ration, and data rate.
