Factors That Affect Generation Rates

There are many factors that can affect the generation rates of municipal waste.The factor are: 1) Geographic location The geographic location of house can contribute to the generation rates of municipal waste.The quantity of municipal waste is different depending on location.Area like city usually generates more municipal waste compared to the village area.this is because the population in city much more higher compared to village.

2) Season of the year Season of the year also can increase the generation rates of municipal waste. Festive season such as Hari Raya, Chinease New Year, Deepavali and Christmas usually increase the generation rates.During these season,people throw lot of municipal wastes as a results of parties,celebrations,family gathering and others.As a result,the generation rates will be increase.

3) Collection frequency (affects amount collected) The collection frequency of the municipal waste can also increase the generation rates. More waste is collected if the frequency is increased. Note that more wastes are not generated.this mean that the frequent the responsible organization, in this case Alam Flora collect the waste,maybe like 4 times per week,the amount of municipal waste can be reduced.

8) Legislation Under legislation, we can reduce the generation rates by the Government, as they can make a legislation to ensure the generation rates are reduced. They can heavily penalized if they are found guilty in littering, involve in case of pollute the environment and if they brake the legislation regarding environment.
