Position Summary Position Title: Photographer Consultant Job Status: Part Time Contract Contract Dates: May 2011- November 2011 Reports To: Winnipeg Site Coordinator/Project Consultant

Purpose of the Project The purpose of this project is to provide an opportunity for participants to visually represent their experience of being housed in the At Home/Chez Soi project. A knowledge translation and exchange project, it offers the opportunity for participants themselves to offer their knowledge of being housed through the project through snapshots of their experiences. A number of interested participants will be given digital cameras and supported to take photographs about their experiences and to write about their photos (what the photo is of; what the photo means to them).

Position Summary The Photographer Consultant will assist the Peer Organizer to organize, coordinate and mentor participants with the end result of organizing a photo graphic art show in Partnership with the Edge Gallery. The candidate will provide practical assistance to peer mentees who have a desire to express themselves in an artistic manner. The Photographer Consultant will assist the Peer Organizer to organize workshops for 12 participants and will meet 1:1 in a mentorship capacity. The Photographer Consultant will provide training for basic digital camera skill use, and assist to develop participants stories that reflect the At Home Chez Soi experience through the use of digital imagery. The Photographer Consultant will assist the Peer Organizer to ensure time lines are met to organize and coordinate a Photo Art exhibit in partnership with Edge Gallery staff. Position Requirements Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Must be well organized and dependable Must have knowledge with mental health recovery process and people who have been homeless Must be able to work with others in a fair and equitable manner free from harassment and discrimination
