Tauren

"When shadow comes to claim our souls, some must rise - the light of old. Names in stone, spirits of legend. Deeds unknown, yet never forgotten. These are the Duranin - of honor within and fear without... Remember them, when in hope you doubt"
Tauren are known for their cultivation and herbilism skills, their physical stature and their attunement to the elements. They enjoy being lazy and eating lots. Their friendly kingdoms are moving campsites that pack up and move when the area has no more resources left. They will tend to the ground and ensure it will be ready for when they return. Tauren welcome anyone into their moving cities and their elders teach their ways to the newcomers in hope they'll be kind to nature so that nature can be kind to them. Personality: Tauren are quick to laugh and are quite quick to accept the help of strangers. They hate having to do work themselves unless its to do with helping the earth or creatures. Most tauren become farmers and druids but the exceptional few heed the call of duty. These exception few are known as the Duranin; the Warriors of Waiy. Physical Description: Tauren are large, muscular and have a excellent metabolism. It is quite hard for a tuaren to be overwieght or even underwieght. They have horns atop their head and the larger the horns, the more likely they are to be a Duranin. They have 3 fingers (including the thumb) and hooves. They have a large snout and a cow-like tail. Tauren women fashion braided and plated hairstyles and men have the same as well as fashioned beards and side-burns. Relations: Tauren get along with all other races. Their easy going attitude allows them to make allies quite quickly, but also allows them to be easily betrayed, however it never seems to worry them as

material possesions are easily replaced. Tauren Lands: Tauren tend to migrate from land to land. They stay there until its natural resources are depleted, prepare it to be relocate and then migrate to another area. Their structures are usually made of leather and are tents and tepees. They have very few permanent structures and even these are demountable and build upon areas that cannot sustain life (large pillars, deserts and blighted areas. Languages; The main langauge of Tauren is Common however they have a native language that is only really understood by the Duranin and the druid elders as 'Taurenae'. This language allows them to communicate with the spirits and animals. Racial Traits: +2 constitution, - 2 dexerity: Tauren are tough but are large and slightly clumsy. Medium: Tauren, although are large creatures, they are only slightly larger than standard humanoids. Tauren have a base land speed of 20 feet. The are slower than average due to their larger size. Cultivation: Tauren gain a +2 skill points in knowledge nature, wilderness lore and animal empathy. Tauren are in tune with the wild. Stability: Dwarves are exceptionally stable on their feet. A tauren gains a +4 bonus on ability checks made to resist being bull rushed or tripped when standing on the ground (but not when climbing, flying, riding, or otherwise not standing firmly on the ground). +2 racial bonus on saving throws against poison: Dwarves are hardy and resistant to toxins.

+4 dodge bonus to Armor Class against monsters of the small type (such as gnomes, halflings, and goblins): This bonus represents special training that tauren undergo, during which they learn tricks that previous generations developed in their battles with small types. Any time a creature loses its Dexterity bonus (if any) to Armor Class, such as when its caught flat-footed, it loses its dodge bonus, too. +2 racial bonus on Appraise checks that are related to plant or living items: Tauren are familiar with valuable plants and animals. +2 racial bonus on Craft checks that are related to plant and animal: Dwarves are especially capable with cultivation and leatherworking. Favored Class: Fighter + druid. A multiclass Taurens fighter and druid class does not count when determining whether he takes an experience point penalty for multiclassing. (see XP for Multiclass Characters, page 60). Tauren culture extols the virtues of battle, and care of nature comes easily to Tauren.
