Frequent Errors / Mandatory Settings for SuPM

The below errors are those which have been encountered after installing SuPM. Please also refer to notes mentioned in this document so that you can get an exact / detailed explanation of the errors you may face. Please note : Before doing any of the settings mentioned in the below document, please make sure that you have read the relevant notes , searched in SDN so that the functioning of the SAP system is not affected

Problem # 1 All the links in the Application Setup were disabled.

Solution 1) Activating the permissions of the SuPM role If these permissions are not activated, then certain links in the SuPM application are de-activated

Go to Content Administration Portal Content Analytics Roles SuPM

Go to Permissions Make the settings as below for users / roles / groups. Assign End User permissions to all. Include the group Everyone.

Include the role SuPM as shown above and assign the End user permissions

Problem # 2 User has read only access When we login to the SuPM application ISSUE : As seen in the screenshot, when making a new briefing book Actions >> New Briefing Book

This gives off the error User has read only access We have given all the roles as mentioned in the Security guide. The main catch is in the above line all. Do not give all the roles. The SUPPORT role gives the user Read Only Access as mentioned in the reply by SAP

However, note here that the links were displayed by doing the settings mentioned in Problem 1

Solution

Remove the role

Remove the above highlighted role. This role gives only Read only access to that particular user, so the user will not be able to create / edit anything in the SuPM application.

Problem # 3 "Loading roles and role assignments" / User does not have any roles assigned

When we click on the SuPM link on the portal, the SuPM portal does not open and keeps on loading forever with the message "Loading roles and role assignments" / User does not have any roles assigned. Suggestion from SAP

Solution

About this role : 1) This role is needed to access the SAP BusinessObjects Sustainability Performance Management content tree. 2) This role should be set as the primary role in the User Preferences after logging in. Go to SPRO

Go to Sustainability Performance Management Role Maintain Sustainability Roles

Here, maintain the USER role of SuPM. In this case we have copied the role from SAPs SAP_XA_SR_USER to Z:SAP_XA_SR_USER role.

Now give all the users this role ie. Z:SAP_XA_SR_USER

We got the error Loading roles and role assignments because we had given all the users Z:SAP_XA_SR_USER role and maintained SAP_XA_SR_USER in SPRO

Problem # 4: SAP recommends to create a system object using the template with load balancing

Maintain the entries as shown

Problem # 5 Script Maintenance Error

Click the Automated Script Maintenance under Application Setup

This error occurred due to the port number being different in the system object ( SAP_BW )

The port number in the below entries was different. It should be 80nn where nn AS ABAP Instance number

Problem # 6 Serious error occured while reading history folder This error is basically encountered while browsing through one of the Detailed Navigation links displayed in the below screenshot.

TCODE : - RS_PERS_ACTIVATE

Select all three checkboxes and click on Execute

Note 1051265 - Serious error occured while reading history folder Summary
Symptom In the open dialog for BEx Web Applications 7.0, the system issues the following error message: Schwerwiegender Fehler aufgetreten bei Lesen des Historyordners or Serious error occured while reading history folder Other terms Open, query, occurred, history folder, history Reason and Prerequisites This error occurs because the persistence of the history information was not activated. Solution Call transaction RS_PERS_ACTIVATE, select all three checkboxes and choose F8. Confirm all the dialog boxes.

Problem # 7 Application keeps on loading no reports, scorecards load This error basically happens after an upgrade. Got to Application Setup Data Source Administration. There click on Refresh Data sources Button

Run the query, /SRB/M001_A001_QR001 in rsrt transaction. Check if there are any errors Activate any multi-providers if we have created. Reload application

Problem # 8 The application is not configured properly for the user THORIAH

Check if the proper role is mentioned

Check SLD

Check Web Dynpro Connections Content Administration WebDynpro Maintain JCo Destinations

Test and Ping each and Every JCo In our case, the user thoriah mentioned in the JCo had been locked. We unlocked it still the error was not gone. We went to Visual Admin

And changed the basis users password in all the destinations with sap.xapps.analytics

Problem # 9 Role Neither a CRL nor a RRL

This error occurs if one of the below conditions are not met Condition # 1 Assign the CRL and RRL roles in the users ID in ABAP

Condition # 2

The role Z:SAP_BW_SPM_001 is already present in Harishs user ID in XB7. On the home page of the SuPM application goto Role Assignment

You need to assign Harish as the RRL ( Regional Reporting Lead ) in the below screen. This will give him the authorization to create / edit KPIs.
