ITHIOPIA & The Lady Of Zion} "Contemporary Ethiopia must be surveyed at this point; for it is a lliving cultural embodiment of ancient Kush, Kemet (Egypt) and Israel. As a result of Ethiopia's heritage, many of the sacred stones sciences used in Kush, Kemet and Israel survived in contemporary Ethiopia today. For example, five of Ethiopias emperors have been mummified and preserved in the tradition of Kemetic pharaohs. The papyrus reed boats of Pharaonic Egypt may be seen on Lake Tana in Ethiopia today. The tradition of creating Tekhens-Obelisks-passed from the Northern Nile Valley into Ethiopian Highlands. Another important cultural tradition that is preserved in Ethiopian Orthodox Church's custodianship of the Biblical Ark of the Covenant. The Coptic Church of Ithiopia is acknowledged caretaker of the Biblical relic, and claim that the Ark has been in Ethiopia since the time of Solomon (Sol-Amon). As stated before, the Ark is a battery- a chamber made of an insulating material and coated inside and out with a conductive material. It is made of acacia wood (an insulator), and laid inside and out with gold (a conductor). As a battery, the Ark can accumulate. store and dis-charge great quantities of energy. Arks were a very important component of kemetic spiritual ceremonies and temple processions. Moreover, what distinguished the Biblical Ark from other kemetic Ark shrines are its contents-two highly energized meteorites. The legend of the arrival of the Ark is contained in the Ethiopian manuscript "The Kebra Nagast". It states that the Queen of Sheba was an Ethiopian names Makada, and that an Ethiopian merchant by the name of Tamrin (Amharic for Hiram) told her a very wise man who lived in the North named Solomon. Makada was eager to hear his wise mind in person, so she assembled a great caravan of gold, silver, precious stones, frankincense and myrrh. Makada traveled down the Nile with Tamrin, whereupon she presented Solomon with the wealth of Afrika. However, Solomon coveted her pleasure more than treasure. He swooned her with wise words, extolling good will, love and unity towards humanity. The Queen was impressed. Solomon then pressed for some initmate love from the Queen. Makada explained that it is the custom of her nation that only a Queen may rule, and that she must remain a virgin during her reign. Even though Solomon had (365 Wives), he was mesmerised by the beauty of Makada and refused to accept no for an answer. Solomon used his wise mind, to creat a deceptive plan. He asked Makada to have a feast with him, to which she agreed. He then asked the cook to prepare food with an abundance of oils and spices. During the feast, Solomon asked Makada to rest in his chamber that evening. Makada was hesitant, but agreed on the condition Solomon promised not to take her most precious treasure by force. Solomon promised not to take her virginity if she did not take anything precious from him with-out first asking. Makada quickly agreed, knowing that her wealth was truly abundant. She naively could not conceive of needing anything precious from Solomon. That night, Solomon had the chambermaid fill a bowl with water and place it in the room. He turned out the light and feigned sleep. Makada laid down in her bed, but could not sleep. The oily and spicy food made her restless and parched. She saw of bowl of water in the room and helped herself a glass. At that point, Solomon jumped out his bed and accused Makada of breaking her promise. Makada protested, saying that she was simplying drinking a glass of water. At which point Solomon says, "is there anything that thou hast seen under the heavens that is better than water?" Makada reluctantly freed Solomon from his oath and he made love to her. That night, he had a frightening dream. The sun was shining bright over Judah, suddenly it fell below the horizon and Judah was in darkness. The sun then rose up in the southern sky and shined on Ethiopia-the "Land of the South". However, Judah remained in darkness. Solomon awoke terrified. The dream disturbed Solomon so much; he did not share it with his High priest Zadok, which was his usual custom. The next day, Makada prepared herself to return

to her country, Solomon prepared a massive caravan to ensure a safe, comfortable journey for the Queen. He also presented Makada with a ring, and asked her to use this as a sign if by chance she had conceived from their union. Makada returned to Ethiopia, and she did indeed conceive from their union. She bore a son, whome named Menylek 1st, "The son of a wise man". On his eighteenth EarthStrong, she presented Menylek with the ring Solomon gave her and asked Tamrin to guide Menylek to his father's land. Menylek amazed the people of Judah, for his countenance was just like Solomon's. Solomon rejoiced meeting and coming to know Menylek, for his two other sons-Jeraboam and Rehaboam-were poor examples of men who incarnated Solomon's lustful and greedy tendecies. Solomon shared his entire wise mind with Menylek, and taught him in the ways of justice and righteous rulership. Menylek matured into a truly majestic prince. As time progressed, Menylek decided to return home to Ithiopia. Solomon pleaded for him to stay and be King of Judah. Menylek refused. Solomon therefore decided Menylek should establish a theocratic dynasty of Judaic Kings in Ethiopia. To assist Menylek in this effort, Solomon instructed his priest to send their first born sons with Menylek. Once in Ethiopia, the sons of the priest were to replicate the theocratic government of Judah. Solomon's High Priest was named Zadok. He was Solomon's premier counselor and dreamed interpreter. Zadok was also the custodian of the Ark of the Covenant. The office of High Priest was inherited; therefore, the next person in line for custodian of the ark was Zadok's son Azaryus. Azaryus spent his entire life dreaming of the day that he would be custodian of the SArk. When Zadok informed him that he would be traveling to Ethiopia to be High Priest for Solomon's son Menylek, Azaryus was devastated. That night an angel appeared before Azaryus and told him of a plan to take the Ark. He told Azaryus to make a wooden replica of the Ark and substitute it under the three covers that were usualy kept over "The Lady Of Zion". He did so and brought the Ark with him to his journey to Ethiopia. The Ark usually made the travel swifter and easier; the weather was as if Jah wanted them to arrive quickly and safely. Solomon did not fare so well. When Menylek and the sons of Judah departed, he snared his dream of that fateful night with Zadok. Zadok was struck with fear, for he interpreted the sun in the dream to be the Ark. He quickly ran into the Holy of Holies and threw back the covers to reveal the wooden replica of the Ark. Zadok was so surprised, he collapsed and died on the spot. Missing the Ark and his High priest, Solomon rallied an army to pursue Menylek and Azaryus. However, they were met with foul weather, delays, and setbacks the entire journey. They returned back to Judah while still in the lower Nile region."
