Brown from 1,500 feet into the St. George Mine in Foresthill.

Paul Kovacich Jr.s appeal of a 2009 first-degree murder conviction for killing his wife 29 years ago denied. 12th - A new $15,000 monument sign paying tribute to the Auburn Municipal Airport is one step closer to being erected. 12th - A hard-fought campaign for two seats on Thunder Valley Casino owner United Auburn Indian Communitys tribal council has ended with no change in leadership. 14th - Placer County CEO Tom Miller said he will retire early in 2012. 15th - Christian Valley resident and Army veteran Tyler Steinle returned from a Jets game in New York with a new home in Las Vegas. 15th - An estimated 3,000 residents will have a brighter Christmas, thanks to the efforts of the Auburn Area Christmas Basket Program. 18th - Thousands of Golden Eagle fans made the trip to Carson to watch Del Oros football championship bowl game. 20th - The Foresthill Public Utility District will have to shut down if water rates arent raised or a community advisory committee cant find solutions to the districts budget deficit. 20th - Placer County moving forward with a possible June 5 vote in North Auburn and Ophir on raising $570,000 annually for higher taxes for fire protection. 23rd - The Sacramento area has recorded .7 inches of rainfall so far this month, the fourth lowest since 1849.
