Hunter Roberts Construction Group is somewhat new to the construction market, but has grown quickly.
Its Pennsylvania division is building several major local projects.

H unter Roberts Construction Group, now in its sec-
ond year of business, has quickly established itself
as a major player in the New York, New Jersey, New
England, North Carolina and Pennsylvania markets. In its
Pennsylvania division alone, the company is approaching
$95 million in sales this year, Executive Vice President John
Fumosa says. Fumosa also serves as general manager for
the Pennsylvania office and explains the involvement of
senior corporate executives at the division level is one way
the company stays lean and productive. As a whole, the
company’s total sales now exceed $2 billion.
“We are a new organization, but our staff is very experi-
enced and we are well financed,” Fumosa says. “Our bond-
ing capacity is over $750 million.” Founded in 2005, the
company’s headquarters are in New York, and it operates
divisions in New Jersey, North Carolina, Boston and Phil-
adelphia. Each division takes on a mix of residential, retail,
healthcare, interior renovation and office building work.
The Pennsylvania division is working on the $55 million
Tyler School of Art project for Temple University in
Philadelphia. The company is serving as construction man-
ager on the project, which will relocate all components of
the Tyler School of Art to the new, state-of-the-art facility.
The 225,000-square-foot new building will be linked to
the existing Boyer School of Music and Dance by an atri-
um, creating a new mini-arts campus, the company says.
The three-story steel structure will feature energy efficient
techniques for the walls, roof and windows. It will include
improved facilities, new studios and enhanced technology
features and will be completed in June 2008.
