Dear Parents and Guardians,

We look forward to a busy and productive 2012 at Wolfville School! In keeping with our identified School Success Planning Goals, our focus in 2012 will remain: reducing incidences of Bullying, Meeting the Learning Needs of all Learners, and best practices in Writing P-8, to name but a few. I am also pleased and thankful to report that our students will continue to benefit from a wide range of academic, athletic and artistic opportunities in 2012 thanks to a committed staff, parent volunteers and community partnerships who work very hard to provide our students with a wide range of activities. Please contact the school if you have other ideas that we should consider introducing to our student body. Our goal is to provide something for everyone! Also, it is never too early to start thinking about our annual Subject Fair which is usually held in early March. Students from primary to grade eight can showcase a project, model, or piece of art from any subject area. The subject fair includes both science and non-science projects. Students who focus on science related projects, will have the added opportunity to get their project judged and the top projects will be recommended for the Regional Science fair held at NSCC-Middleton Campus between March 27th - 30th. The subject fair is another great opportunity for parents and families to interact with their children educationally by inciting curiosity and enthusiasm about learning. On a sadder note, it has become necessary to have several surveillance cameras installed on our playground in order to curtail the ongoing vandalism to our school. Though we have not been able to catch who is responsible, I trust that our students are not responsible for all of these acts. Please talk to your children about the cost of vandalism to schools and the reductions of opportunities for them as a result of these senseless actions. All the best in 2012! Eric Trahan,

family members. To top it all off, we raised approximately $1400.00 that went to families in need. The H&S wishes you a Happy New Year and looks forward to seeing you at the next H&S meeting on Tuesday, January 17th SAC News As you are filling your calendars for the 2012 year, please note that SAC meetings are scheduled as follows: Thursday, January 12th Monday, April 2nd Tuesday, February 7th Tuesday, May 8th th Thursday, March 8 Thursday, June 14th Meetings are held at 7:00 pm in the Family Studies Room. As you are aware, the Annapolis Valley Regional School Board will be reviewing their school renovation priorities and providing a new list to the Hon. Ramona Jennex, Minister of Education. We will continue to share information about this review process with you as it becomes available. The SAC wishes you a Happy New Year and hope you had a Happy & Healthy Holiday.

L.I.F.E.: Learning Is For Everyone At Wolfville School, we believe that all students should have the opportunity to participate fully in school. We are pleased to have a LIFE benevolent fund to assist with specific student needs related to learning. This fund is used to ensure that no student is prevented from participating fully in their classes or school-based experiences because of their financial situation. It is only through the generous financial support of local businesses and residents that the LIFE fund can exist. Heres one way you can help: Provide us with your business card and for only $20 we will include it in one of our monthly newsletters. Its low-cost advertising for you and the proceeds go to a great cause! Call Mrs. Davison or Mrs. Fox in the school office at 5426055 or drop by with your business card. Thank you in advance for your support.
