Decisions in Paradise Part II2 Decisions in Paradise Part II We are back in Kava with Alex and Nik. Today Nik is going to be presenting the decision style that would be needed for us to make Nexfaktor have a bigger presence in Kava. As we know from last week Kava is located in the South Pacific Islands and that it is more or less devastated with one disaster after another on a regular basis; whther it is by natural means of mother nature or by human means. I decide that the decision-making style that would have the most impact for Nexfaktor in making our presence knowmn is the collective-participative style. Collective-Participative decision making allows the leader of Nexfaktor to involve its members in the decisions of the organization. Our leader David has seen to it that he sent the best people capable of showing the people of Kava what Nexfaktor has to offer to them financially and economically to start the process of getting the island back to its former glory. So our first step to solving most of the problems on Kava is to gather as much information about the people, the finances, and the labor regulations for jobs as we can so that we can send back to the company and develop a strategy that would eliminate the stress points the island is having in those areas. We will first have to come up with a plan on how to gather this information before we begin. My ideas is to have a meeting with the government officials on the island to let them know of our intentions and what help we would need from them in finding out; the basic knowledge of every individual on the island, what skills they are proficient in and what skills they would need training on, we also need to find out what their finances look like on a whole, as well as what labor regulations they have already set forth for the natives. Our decision making steps will cnsist of: 1. Collecting all of the information about the skill set of each individual on the island.

Decisions in Paradise Part II3 2. Find out how bad the finances are through a meet and greet with the government. 3. Improve on the labor regulations for getting and keeping a job and payment for that job. 4. Training each individual in their correct skill set based on minor test that will be commenced. Because when we have collected all this information, the only thing that alex and I would have to do is gather everyone into section of skills known and skills that are (training required). This would allow us to narrow down the amout of time that would be needed for each individual to learn a new trade. We need to also give them training on how to better manage their finances and make sure that we have covered all aspects on that topic, so that if they go through another disaster there will be no panic due to money but mainly on restoration. This decision making style will allow Nexfaktor to have a group brainstorm on how best to go about preparing the workers on the island to train but also make money so they are able to provide for their families. By everyone brainstorming we will have the pick of all the great ideas and we can choose what works and what does not. Based on all that was learned in week one of the class, the decision model that I choose for Nexfaktors presence in Kava is the best one. The reason for this is; in order for us to convince the government to allow us a bigger presence on their island we have to come together as a team and show why we are the best company for the job. Why Nexfaktor is the one that will take Kava into the 21st century if it is not there yet, and if it is how we can improve it for better years to come. The only way for us to do all these things is by first gathering the information needed so that we can come together as a team and brainstorm as to how we will fit in all the pieces of the puzzle. The only disadvantages with our selecting is that this decision style is a

Decisions in Paradise Part II4 fairly slow process because of all the checking and double checking that must be done and then the training at the end. It is also time consuming, there will be less security involved in the decisions because we will all be working as a group and passing our ideas off on each other.
