Windows Vista Starter/XP/7: TEXlive 2010 , install-tl.bat, Right click and Run as Administrator, Select Default Choices, relax for 30 min Windows Vista Business: MikTeX2.9, run setup, select install, select complete, leave other things as default, relax for 30 min Linux: Comes as default in most of distributions. If not, install TeXlive. Installation time may vary depending on OS, HW, etc. In case of crisis, do not hesitate to take help of your friends/colleague. People are usually nice!

The game of the Name
TEX is pronounced as tech as in TEXnician, TEXies and TEXnology A etc. Same rule applies for LTEX.
A A TEX is typeset as TEX and LTEX is typeset as LTEX. TEX and LATEX are not correct. In plain text, these are written as TeX and LaTeX.

Conguring TEXworks
Adding Spellcheck Features: Add en_GB.dic , en_GB.aff, en_US.dic , en_US.aff les to dictionaries folder of <home>\TeXworks (Windows). Select spell checking language from Edit Preference Spell check language. Check the appropriate box at Edit Spelling.
